When this game first came out, no one had a high enough quality of a video to run it in it best quality.... Not even alienware, only the producers could, but that just how in advance they planned with the game to be around for a while. Not to dissappoint but doom 4 got put on the back burner for a little bit because rage didn't sell a well as expected. I know it's really gay.

@LazyMan9000 lol you picked a fight and lost this one. i call the other a draw. but this is one of those times when you are COMPLETELY batshit wrong. this is a kickass version of doom 1 put into true 3d graphics instead of sprite based and has a much better gameplay level. as for monsters, yes there are less but know why? this game does not use the "spawn too many monsters to kill" aproach it uses the "spawn the right monsters in the right places aproach" just had to add my 2 cents there.

I love scary games, but this isn't one of them. Once you've learned the game's tricks, it gets old very quickly. Try Amnesia, System Shock 2, Silient Hill series, CoC: Dark Corners of the Earth, parts of Bioshock... all of them do a better job.

@matternicuss there are definitely scarier games, and oddly enough --at least in my own experience anyway-- these were the older games. I've yet to come across one that's quite as nerve-wracking as System Shock 2, played at night with a good pair of headphones.

Even if the graphics weren't great, there's something about facing an enemy that apologizes for what it's about to do and begs for death as the infesting parasite forces him to beat your head in with a pipe.
