I'm sure there many other potential viewers out there (like I was) who simply aren't aware of the show. people this can work if you keep pushing-save our seeker,if nothing else the syfy channel should pick this up,here's a example,there's a black show called the game it was on the wb channel,it got cancelled it was only popular in black house holes,not a crossover,anyway every fanwas pissed,bet started playing the past episodes it became even more popular now they bought the show and new episodes are coming in january, so it can work,DON'T GIVE UP !
Yes, LotS is filmed in New Zealand...it's made by the same people who brought forth the "Xena" and "Hercules" series (Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert)...old Xena/Herc alums on both sides of the camera here.

LotS is s syndicated series: it depends on non-network stations purchasing and broadcasting it.
Tribune bought the first two seasons from Disney for its stable of stations; something like 40% of the stations broadcasting LotS are/were affilated with Tribune. When Tribune filed for bankruptcy last year, evidently they felt that they could no longer afford to keep LotS.
Looking at such a big hole in its revenue base, Disney decided not to continue funding production. Loyal fans are continuing to write and email Disney, ABC, and any possible substitute broadcasting entity to save the show.
This looks really good. What was it about? To bad it got canceled before I even got to see what it was like. Was it any good. Is it worth taking a look even though it's done?
Before the deal with Tribune imploded, LotS's producers fully expected a thrid season, and the ep "Dark" foreshadowed the next menace to confront Richard & co. Books or no books, there's plenty of room for new stories after "Tears".
There is a group on facebooked call "Legend of the Seeker" It's a group on f/b. We can get lots of inside info in this group. Seems the network that was airing the org series when bankrupt. That is the reason so far there is no 3rd season. Good news, Starz and Direct TV are showing interest in bringing it back!! If you like Goodkind, you'll definitely appreciate 'A Murder of Crows', by Alexandre J. Wynne. There's less magic than in 'A Sword of Truth', but I've found the writing style to be equally beautiful and the characters just as fleshed out.

@jdzspace i never rode the book, so i dont know how off season 2 was, but i well, i loved it. season 1 i liked it, but i dont liked the richard/kahlan in season 1, is very dramatic and boring, everybody i know, thinks season 2 was better than season 1.

I remember seeing the first trailer on TV. A few months later I saw the new version of wizard's first rule and bought. I am so glad I did, it's the best series ever! There was a rerun on TV so I watched the hole first season online until I caught up with what was on TV. I couldn't wait so I watched the rest online. :D I havent missed a single episode. The books are way better but the series is still good and I'm upset that it got canceled.:( Save Our Seeker!
Wizard's Frist Rule: People are STUPID! They believe that by making the series 90% like the book will make it better. They are afraid that the Tv Series will make the book look bad and in so accuses the Tv Series being not 100% base on on the book making it a failure. They won't see the Truth that the Tv Series is better than the book in many ways but also bad in other ways too. But only resulting that the books and Tv Series are equally great.
@ivorydome No it actually is't even that close to the book. First season is semi close they get the general jist of it right. As for the second season it doesn't even come close to the second book about all they get right is the names and thats about it. All they do is fix little problems here and there while there wandering around in the woods. The books are ten times better than this cheap version of a show and would highly recommend them to any body who is interested in watching this show.

i love these books and have been waiting for it to come out in aus :P gonna download them instead. not sure if i will like the interpretation, i think richard should look older and kahlan doesnt sound like its pronounced right...

Since Megan Fox has officially been dropped from Transformers 3, and since the Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled, I think it is high time that Michael Bay got some common sense and hire Bridget Regan, from Legend of the Seeker, to replace Fox as Shia Labeoufs love interest. She is more beautiful than Fox, projects strength and intelligence which Fox doesn't have, and is quite frankly more beautiful than Fox. The choice is obvious.

Bridget Regan and Tabrett Bethell. Emmy-winning score. Good presentation of at least some of Terry Goodkind's positive themes: perserverance, self-reliance, loyalty to deserving friends, the power of the love between R & K. Did I mention Bridget Regan and Tabrett Bethell?

I do NOT hope this show gets cancelled, LOTS is one of a kind. People need to stop comparing it to the books. The opening credits says it is BASED on the sword of truth series, it does not mean it is exactly like the book and I for one am happy that it isn't, I prefer something different. The book saga is great, but I really really enjoy the series too and prefer them both.
The book and series have different writers. I prefer something new rather than an entire replay of a book.

I hope the show gets canceled. It's a disgrace to the books. The show in itself is okay, but as soon as the fact that it was adapted from a book comes in, it turns into crap.
I have read the books twice. With that authority, I must pronounce YOU full of crap. This wonderful world created by Mr. Goodkind has been adapted to a totally different form of media that cannot be compared to the experience of reading about it. So far, the second season has been wonderful. The stories are good. The actors are good. Presently, it is the only TV show that I look forward to watching! What a shame if it gets canceled.
I said, if you noticed, that, as a show, in itself, it isn't bad. But they are bad rip-offs of the books. The books were perfectly fine, and then the media had to fuck them up and screw around with the plots and the characters. I don't know what was going through Goodkind's head when he signed the contract so his books could be made into a television show.
But surely you see that the story had to be adapted to fit a weekly series. The books are still there and unchanged. I think it's great that a show could be created based on the strength of Goodkind's wonderful stories. Although the story is altered, it is delightful to see elements appear in the show, Surely for that you can overlook the changes.
For example, watch "Broken." I think the writers drew from when Berdine was magically spelled to kill Richard. Yet Richard used his War Wizard power, and compassion, to heal her and secure her loyalty by risking his life. The book version was much more powerful since we had a more poignant understanding of his relationship with Mord Sith; however, in a few minutes during Broken, we see a similar reason for Cara to become Richard's most loyal protector.
@dabest121 If by "based" you mean the characters have the same names, yeah, that's about it. the story follows the book MAYBE 10% (Probably 1-5%). It is not only nothing like the books (which I was hoping for but did not expect) it is Nothing like anything good.
LotS has NOT been canceled...yes, it's in big trouble because Tribune, the company that controls the great majority of U.S. stations that broadcast it, will not pay for a third season. However, it's reported that TPTB (Disny & ABC) are looking around for alternate buyers, and a decision one way or another is weeks away.
LOTS is in danger of being canceled. They need as many people as they can to write to Tribune Broadcasting Company asking for a third season. Please Help!!!!
I dont understand why so many complaints. I think that the Legend of the Seeker is a fantastic show. We have not had such a good magic / adventure show since Charmed or Xena: Warrior Princess.
@nemnaja becuz people read books and then watch the series imho. To mee, Zedd was way too creepy and not a noble looking guy at all. Same with the Seeker, way too simple looking guy, not a Seeker who got truth from everyone even before becoming the Seeker. Not the way you imagine him. The charecters a kinda shallow compared to the way you imagine them. Although it is a spectacular series if you can forget the books. Not everyone can do it I guess.

There have been many books made into movies, most movies originated as books and they haven't drifted that much from the origional story. if all that was to be changed, then why use the same characters? The sword of truth series is one of my fovorite series and to see it butchered like this just pisses me off. I understand that when transfering any book to film there has to be changes, but to completely destroy major plot lines? REALLY? Also, what's with the teenager playing Richard? I would have loved to see this series brought to film and done right. this is just wrong.
You were an idiot to expect them to stay true to the story, I certainly didn't. It would be terribly difficult to do so, books and cinema are two different things. Books build up events slowly chapter after chapter, obviously you can't do that in the constraints of an hour, and obviously you can't have an hour full of just building up. The show is actually very good, but when you're constantly comparing it to the book like I'm sure you are it's impossible to enjoy. Just enjoy the show!
@MsElfkin Unless you are going to make 11 movies it would not work on the big screen. You have to change things from the books for it to work. The TV show can never go by the books altogether. They would need 11 seasons for that and if they don't want to go for 11 seasons then what. Terry Goodkind has said the books are the books and the TV show is the TV show. I like that I can read the books and watch the TV show and not feel like the story is being given away to me.

I am not kidding, this show has got to be one of the best on television right now. It is rich with characters, storylines, everything etc. This show is always entertaining and interesting. Where I live it is relegated to 1230am to 130am I will never understand why cause this show is freakin' good, for those if u who havent seen it yet, please try to get it somehow because it is good. What I like the most is that the story is easy to follow and the characters are complex, THUMBS UP!
This show sucks complete ass compared to the books, I read Wizard's First Rule in 2 days, and just after seeing the premiere episode I am far beyond disappointed, there are so many flaws compared to the original story that I can't bear to watch another episode, I am returning to reading Stone of Tears now.

Sadly, I never finished the Sword of Truth Series. I painfully muddle my way through those books to Book 4, Temple of the Winds. I mostly read on because I did enjoy most of Wizard's First Rule. I was sorely disappointed with the . And, I swore not to buy another and kept that promise. I do miss Scarlet, though.
Well to be honest I watched a few episodes and it isn't a bad show. The only problem with me is that if I read a book I like, the story plays out in my head like its own movie, the way I wish to perceive the scenery, the characters, the story, because I am a very in depth role play person, so because the show conflicts with what I wish to see in my head, it turns me away from it.
There is already like few episodes of the season 2 aired in America...i am not sure in which part of europe do you live but NBC bought right to air it in part of the europe

I remember seeing the first trailer on TV. A few months later I saw the new version of wizard's first rule and bought. I am so glad I did, it's the best series ever! There was a rerun on TV so I watched the hole first season online until I caught up with what was on TV. I couldn't wait so I watched the rest online. :D I havent missed a single episode. The books are way better but the series is still good and I'm upset that it got canceled.:( Save Our Seeker!

Wizard's Frist Rule: People are STUPID! They believe that by making the series 90% like the book will make it better. They are afraid that the Tv Series will make the book look bad and in so accuses the Tv Series being not 100% base on on the book making it a failure. They won't see the Truth that the Tv Series is better than the book in many ways but also bad in other ways too. But only resulting that the books and Tv Series are equally great.

@ivorydome No it actually is't even that close to the book. First season is semi close they get the general jist of it right. As for the second season it doesn't even come close to the second book about all they get right is the names and thats about it. All they do is fix little problems here and there while there wandering around in the woods. The books are ten times better than this cheap version of a show and would highly recommend them to any body who is interested in watching this show.

Since Megan Fox has officially been dropped from Transformers 3, and since the Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled, I think it is high time that Michael Bay got some common sense and hire Bridget Regan, from Legend of the Seeker, to replace Fox as Shia Labeoufs love interest. She is more beautiful than Fox, projects strength and intelligence which Fox doesn't have, and is quite frankly more beautiful than Fox. The choice is obvious.

The series cancellation was reported by EW and apparently confirmed by producer Mike Sussman.

I do NOT hope this show gets cancelled, LOTS is one of a kind. People need to stop comparing it to the books. The opening credits says it is BASED on the sword of truth series, it does not mean it is exactly like the book and I for one am happy that it isn't, I prefer something different. The book saga is great, but I really really enjoy the series too and prefer them both.
The book and series have different writers. I prefer something new rather than an entire replay of a book.

I have read the books twice. With that authority, I must pronounce YOU full of crap. This wonderful world created by Mr. Goodkind has been adapted to a totally different form of media that cannot be compared to the experience of reading about it. So far, the second season has been wonderful. The stories are good. The actors are good. Presently, it is the only TV show that I look forward to watching! What a shame if it gets canceled.

I said, if you noticed, that, as a show, in itself, it isn't bad. But they are bad rip-offs of the books. The books were perfectly fine, and then the media had to fuck them up and screw around with the plots and the characters. I don't know what was going through Goodkind's head when he signed the contract so his books could be made into a television show.

But surely you see that the story had to be adapted to fit a weekly series. The books are still there and unchanged. I think it's great that a show could be created based on the strength of Goodkind's wonderful stories. Although the story is altered, it is delightful to see elements appear in the show, Surely for that you can overlook the changes.

For example, watch "Broken." I think the writers drew from when Berdine was magically spelled to kill Richard. Yet Richard used his War Wizard power, and compassion, to heal her and secure her loyalty by risking his life. The book version was much more powerful since we had a more poignant understanding of his relationship with Mord Sith; however, in a few minutes during Broken, we see a similar reason for Cara to become Richard's most loyal protector.

@dabest121 If by "based" you mean the characters have the same names, yeah, that's about it. the story follows the book MAYBE 10% (Probably 1-5%). It is not only nothing like the books (which I was hoping for but did not expect) it is Nothing like anything good.

it takes much more effort to make a series that copies the book(s) than it does to take the general story and make it however you want it.
Look at Lord of the Rings, its almost perfect.

LotS has NOT been canceled...yes, it's in big trouble because Tribune, the company that controls the great majority of U.S. stations that broadcast it, will not pay for a third season. However, it's reported that TPTB (Disny & ABC) are looking around for alternate buyers, and a decision one way or another is weeks away.

I dont understand why so many complaints. I think that the Legend of the Seeker is a fantastic show. We have not had such a good magic / adventure show since Charmed or Xena: Warrior Princess.

Same with the Seeker, way too simple looking guy, not a Seeker who got truth from everyone even before becoming the Seeker. Not the way you imagine him. The charecters a kinda shallow compared to the way you imagine them. Although it is a spectacular series if you can forget the books. Not everyone can do it I guess.

Tell me, what part of "I understand that when transfering any book to film there has to be changes" do you not understand? There have been many books made into movies, most movies originated as books and they haven't drifted that much from the origional story. if all that was to be changed, then why use the same characters? It's like calling ozzy osbourne's band today black sabath. It makes no sense.

The sword of truth series is one of my fovorite series and to see it butchered like this just pisses me off. I understand that when transfering any book to film there has to be changes, but to completely destroy major plot lines? REALLY? Also, what's with the teenager playing Richard? I would have loved to see this series brought to film and done right. this is just wrong.

You were an idiot to expect them to stay true to the story, I certainly didn't. It would be terribly difficult to do so, books and cinema are two different things. Books build up events slowly chapter after chapter, obviously you can't do that in the constraints of an hour, and obviously you can't have an hour full of just building up. The show is actually very good, but when you're constantly comparing it to the book like I'm sure you are it's impossible to enjoy. Just enjoy the show!

@MsElfkin Unless you are going to make 11 movies it would not work on the big screen. You have to change things from the books for it to work. The TV show can never go by the books altogether. They would need 11 seasons for that and if they don't want to go for 11 seasons then what. Terry Goodkind has said the books are the books and the TV show is the TV show. I like that I can read the books and watch the TV show and not feel like the story is being given away to me.

I am not kidding, this show has got to be one of the best on television right now. It is rich with characters, storylines, everything etc. This show is always entertaining and interesting. Where I live it is relegated to 1230am to 130am I will never understand why cause this show is freakin' good, for those if u who havent seen it yet, please try to get it somehow because it is good. What I like the most is that the story is easy to follow and the characters are complex, THUMBS UP!

This show sucks complete ass compared to the books, I read Wizard's First Rule in 2 days, and just after seeing the premiere episode I am far beyond disappointed, there are so many flaws compared to the original story that I can't bear to watch another episode, I am returning to reading Stone of Tears now.

Sadly, I never finished the Sword of Truth Series. I painfully muddle my way through those books to Book 4, Temple of the Winds. I mostly read on because I did enjoy most of Wizard's First Rule. I was sorely disappointed with the . And, I swore not to buy another and kept that promise. I do miss Scarlet, though.

Well to be honest I watched a few episodes and it isn't a bad show. The only problem with me is that if I read a book I like, the story plays out in my head like its own movie, the way I wish to perceive the scenery, the characters, the story, because I am a very in depth role play person, so because the show conflicts with what I wish to see in my head, it turns me away from it.
