Bibi Khadijah r.a. was a merchant who TRAVELLED all around Arabia selling goods and had her own business...in fact..she was the EMPLOYER of Prophet Muhammad {saw}. The Prophet {saw} said she was among the THREE BEST WOMEN IN THE WORLD --the other two were Bibi Maryam, Prophet Isa's mother, and Firaoun's wife. Bibi Aisha was a female judge and scholar + his other wives had a variety of jobs

W/ urbanization, Christian leaders preached"Women must take care of domestic things, men must earn a living"..creating a gender divide. It is the West that brought about this close-minded idea. I am very aware of the social issues that are a concern there and you should be too. Just because you choose to look away from the issues doesnt mean they dont exist! If you study sociology, you will learn that in the history of Muslim world, women had jobs too. Only in England, America, and Europe was this "women at home" idea practiced
