Farhad1965: Before the Pahlavi's (socialist) movement to unite Iran's regional kings and lords, people didn't even know the date they were born let alone have a passport that entitled them to travel the world in search of education and socialist values. So when referring to the Shah please use "Shahan Shah" (King of Kings) otherwise it is as disrespectful.

After the 1979 "revolution" the Tudeh Party and its ally "Fadaiian Aksariat" believed that the Islamic Republic regime was anti-imperialist and they supported it to the extent of betraying the true left and Marxist organisations and hunting them down in tandem with Islamic Guards (Pasdars).

This party, which was a symbol of opportunism and submissiveness, refrained from any revolutionary action under the CIA-planned coup in Iran in 1953, despite the fact that it had a significant organised force under its control. Shortly after the victory of this coup the party organisation was also crushed by the Shah.

However, in reality the party was neither Marxist nor Leninist and did not defend the workers' interests. It was more akin to a petty-bourgeois opportunist group. It not only proved this fact with its ideological-political standpoints, but also with its practical applications of these standpoints.

During the Second World War and after the allies had occupied Iran and the yoke of the Reza Shah regime was deposed, a party called the "Tudeh party" was founded in Iran. This party, which was backed by the Soviet Union, claimed to have belief in Marxsit-Leninist principles and to defend the interests of the working class.

The leftwing movements in Iran undergone huge transformation as result of collapse of USSR and set back in 1979 Iranian Revolution. Some left-wingers have deserted the socialist camp and sold the pass like Abbas Millani and Faroukh Negahdar , But the hope is the left is back on the march again and this year the largest number of student arrest were left-wingers hopefully these young revolutionaries will blossom one day and Iran will be a socialist state.
