Since the USA seems to be going to war with someone every decade(eg. 1970s Vietnam, 1980s: Grenada, Panama. 1990s: Iraq, Serbia, Somalia. 2000s: Iraq, Afghanistan). The 2010s needs a new enemy. With the USA probably set to withdraw from Afghanistan in 2012, the USA's next war will be North Korea.
So NK will probably be able to put nukes on missles in the next few years or so, and will use this to blackmail the USA, SK, & Japan. Unfortunately, the USA will not stand for it.

I believe its closer to only 8 million troops in their regular forces. but even if they did have 11 million they don't have the economic resoures to keep that many troops trained or their equipment in proper order. the mass numbers would help ion the initial surge but without proper logistic support it becomes a hinderance. I'd rather have 10 properly trained and equiped marines than 100 half trained reservists

to give an idea about training in ww2 even though the germans lost their losses of men were at 3.3 million. while russias were at 8.7 million. might have ended diferently if the western front hadn't been opened up but thats a diferent debate this is just meant to show how quality of training matters.

I just wish they did something more aggressive (unfortunately, more people may die this way, but in the long run, it may save more lives) this time around. Get South Korea so upset that war breaks out and we can remove Kim and reunite Korea once and for all. Also get Japan involved so they can "pay back their debt in blood"--this should repair relations US doesn't need to be involved--but its nuclear umbrella and potential backing are good insurance in case China tries something.
