This song is a most excellent reflection upon the "American Dream". Bright Eyes Brilliantly sums up the entire message in the title "Road to Joy"(An obvious play on "Ode to Joy", wich implys parrody and fuses it with the American Concept of "The Pursuit of Happiness." As if to say the the "American Dream" is a cheap sham, an off-brand, a sub-par version of somthing greater. The Song echos this message at its end when it gives the "Lets F* it up boys!" Version of the "Ode to Joy."
