  • Did you get a botox?

  • hi there Emily! I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I'm not nearly as skilled in makeup, and the first time I tried out this look I came out looking like a zombie, but I'm going to keep trying because this is just a gorgeous look!

    Thanks again :)

  • Emily I just used your tutorial to do a smokey look on my friend for a night out. Even though she had no brushes or applicators on her (I had to use a q-tip!) and I used a trio from another brand instead of ELF I managed to give her a really gorgeous smokey look. Thanks for your help Emily! I'm learning so many skills from your videos.

  • Loves it!! Great video! Thanks so much. I really love smokey eyes and nude neutral lips on you it really suits you. *hugs*

  • Search for coupons online for ELF I found one that was free shipping on any $25 purchase. I got a set of brushed and 7 different pieces of makeup all for $26 total.

  • Go to target. Shipping problem solved.

  • You are gorgeous! I kind of like how you sound like a newscaster giving a consumer report lol.

  • Nice call.. She anchors.

  • Thx I gonna buy these products, looks nice on you.

  • Blue Moon (powder shadow) and Blueberry (cream duo) in ELF can be used to make a smokey eyes just like this, but with a gray-blue tone. Just a tip for those who want something dramatic but may not like black and gray :).

  • I got some of the elf products at Target too

  • $2 yes but she forgot to mention the price of a brush and shipping and handling if you are ordering from the ELF site. Just saying :P

But I love your vids <33

  • i dont know y ppl gave this a thumbs down? it is very true

  • If really desperate, you could use your finger...

  • what angled liner brush did you use?

  • e.l.f. is also sold at bigger targets, biglots, and big kmarts :)

  • Another great video Emily. I love how professional you are, you are organized, well thought out and give great ideas and information. I check every day to see if you have a new video up. I also like how you respect money. It shows great character and a proper upbringing. There are so many poor role models for young girls, you are a wonderful role model. Keep the bargain looks coming (ELF has excellent products and makeup brushes).

  • when you line your eyes could you have used the shadow wet? or could you possibly use the darkest cream shadow as a liner?

  • VerY Nice!!!!

  • Hi, can you tell us what you are using on your lips? They are absolutely beautiful!

  • where can u get elf makeup for a dollar???

  • dollar store

  • dollar general

  • I love this look! Thanks for posting your vids

  • Great video. Can't wait to try this out.

  • This is not an insult, but you sound a lot like sarah palin. Great makeup, you're really pretty!

  • I noticed women with smaller eyes really love doing their eye makeup. I can't do that, they're huge and make up would look too much for them.

  • no i think they would look awesome...makeup really enhances the beauty of big eyes...too much makeup on smaller eyes make them look even smaller...Go ahead

  • Ur hair looks great!..do u think u can do a video showing how u get ur hair to hav that much volume?

  • Amazing video, really helped alot! thanks!

  • I really admire this look, it's gorgeous and only 2 dollars. Very creative! My husband was listening to this video and asked if you were a news anchor..he says he can tell by the sound of your voice! I bet you get that a lot! Anyway - thanks again for this tutorial!

  • great idea and look! I was wondering what kind of nail polish you were wearing i love the color!

Thanks again for the great tip!

  • that's funny- my ELF drama quad has triangular-shaped shadows. Did you get yours from the ELF website or somewhere else?

  • mine came from the elf website- but I got them in the smokey eye set awhile back that came with an eyelash curler and a few other things. all the others i got singularly were triangles :)

  • I Think she got the older version. cause mine is triangular too. But the older model is square

  • wow what a great look, i am going to try this.

btw it looks wonderful on you!

  • I LOVE the Elf cream shadows and cannot believe they are only $1. I get them at K-Mart and can't say enough about them. They last and look terrific.

    Thanks for the tips!

  • Very pretty

  • true- unless you buy them at your local big lots, K-mart, target or certain other stores that sometimes carry elf

  • cool :0) Have the cream shadows not used them yet though, we pay £1.50 and £2 per item here in the UK :0)

    xxxJoolsxxx

  • Great job! I love the look and have been wondering about ELF products for a while now and didnt know if it was pigmented enough for me but the way you use both it seems to be. Thanks for sharing!

  • That's so cool that you did this look for so cheap.

  • Excellent tutorial. My question is, did your eyeshadow color last?

  • Very pretty! Could you show us an updated makeup collection/storage? Thanks! :-)

  • I LOVE THIS ONE Emily!!! I can't wait to try it on me... i'm reallly getting into the cream eyeshadows because of you.... I was afraid of them at first but I tried it for the first time yesterday and my eyeshadow looked amazing ALL DAY LONG!!!! Thanks again! :D

  • Wow your eyes look fabulous I always wanted to learn how to do the smokey eye with grey shadow . Thanks

  • wow that looks very sultry

  • What's the name of the liner brush your using? Where can I get one ?

  • Thank you for using the ELF cream shadows. I bought a couple but have been at a loss as to how to use them. Thank you!

I also appreciate the cost conscious theme.

    Have a great day.

  • Wow an amazing look!! I like how you used cheaper products, as most people on youtube always use MAC etc!!

    Thanks soooo much! Love it!

  • 2 dolla

  • AWESOME work. :) You should do more videos like this, with achieving GREAT looks with cheaper products!

  • the brushes were elf too right?

  • Amazing what you can do with cheapie eyeshadows. Those elf shadows look pigmented, I'm really surprised.

  • emily, out of all the smokey eye tutorials i've seen on you tube (and you know there's a ton out there!) this is my absolute favorite!!!! it's gorgeous! it is dramatic, but not so much that you look like you have black eyes! beautiful as always!

  • Great demonstration. I also like the camera setup with the "envelope" setting. A much richer look.

  • wow thts uber amazing luvs this!!!

  • Emily u r by far my fav guru on u tube and i have watched a lot... I just got my shipment from elf, I ordered after watching u talk about how much u like them, and i couldnt be happier... I already have my shopping cart full for a 2nd order.. I really was impressed with the mineral eye shadows... i got one just to try, royal, and its beautiful. My question is, how are they compared to Mac pigments? I curently have 0 Mac products, and if i can find a better deal i would rather not spend the $.

  • as usual Emily, beautiful and simple. i love that you use makeup that we all can afford at this time. xx

  • wow i like it and is so simple!

  • thanks Emily...You are my favorite!

  • great idea!Do 5 dollar one and a 10!

  • excellent.!

  • wow what a great deal. !!! and it looks gorgeous. Btw i had an idea for a tutorial: you could choose one stand out celebrity from sundays OSCARS and do a tutorial on her "look" just an idea

  • love the title haha :D

  • Great idea for a video and beautiful look!:)

  • $2! your amazing!

  • wow that is totally amazing look for only 2 dollars!

i love it emily! you should do this tuts more often.:)

  • wow! I love it.

    thanks

  • I really like the drama kit, it was one of the first things i purchased from elf and the color payoff is great. I just purchased some of the cream duo shadows and like those as well too. Great look with these :)

  • You are most definately one of my favorite Youtubers!

    Thanks for the videos!

    xoxo Tiffany

  • Did you get the elf duo in Blueberry? It makes a gorgeous blue smokey eye! I tried this look the other day with Blueberry! Your makeup looks gorgeous as ever!

  • i don't have that one! i bet it would be beautiful though :D

  • Beautiful as usual!

  • The Drama eyeshadow palette is my absolute favorite product from ELF. This is a good look.(:

  • Hey thanks for the tips, your eyes look great!

  • Wonderful job, I watch all your videos.. just love them, thanks!

  • This look is soooo beautiful! And the video is just perfect :) Well done! Ok, time to go and play with my make up... hopefully I won't look like a panda...

  • LOL pandas are cute ;D

  • true :)

  • thanks a lot. please keep doing tutorial from ELF. what do you think about their mineral eye shadows?

  • i LOVE them :D they're pigmented and many of them have a nice sparkle. If you don't mind dealing with loose shadows- you'll like them

  • I just received mine in royal, it is a beautiful purple, and i love it...

Emily, how would u say they compare to Mac pigments? Just curious if the extra $ is neccesary... I love ur videos...

  • i noticed after i used the shadow brush of elf for a couple of weeks my eyelids turned red & itchy!

any advise? btw, love all your vids!

    very helpful!

  • Did you clean & sanitize the brush first? Maybe if you do that againt now and then test the brush on a patch of skin (that's not on your face) you might be able to tell if it's ok to use again. Also- is it possible that it's the product you used that's irritating your eyes?

  • Can the ELF creme eye shadow be used as a eyeliner ?

  • You could if you want a silvery/gray look to the liner. I'd recommend setting it with some sort of powder shadow just to make sure it doesn't fade/smudge :)

  • I really enjoyed watching this video so thank you!! I always do this kind of silver, black look.

  • love it! it doesnt look that "cheap". great job girlie!
