@000cyrax Aye, no bother. You might want more RAM, though, you're within the recommended but in this day and age you might as well get a 4Gb stick since you can get them for £20/$30-ish. I find that if you're on a game that your RAM is max for a virus scan starting or some alert brings everything to a grinding halt. Extra RAM calms it.

@PascalDigga I've only played Black Ops on my PC during the Steam free-to-play weekends, but I do remember being able to run it pretty easily. It's not a hard game to max, especially at this range of grahpics cards.

You have to be crazy to run that system on only a 430 watt power supply. my system has the same graphics card and an only slightly better processor and I use a 550 watt.

Why does nobody ever say their resolution? The only resolution that matters is 1920x1080 imo. Now then tell me if you're able to play this game on high/ultra. I have a radeon 5770 by the way and I can play this game on 1920x1080 with medium details (around 35 fps), so with this card (radeon 6850) you can play this game on ultra with a reso of 1920x1080.

@NicholasFaulconer Potentially, yes. I tried playing on this card at 1280x720 and I got around 40-60 fps on High, so it should be able to do it, though it might struggle, it's kinda that grey area, you'd have to test around with it.

@TheSuperpaolo2 Keep in mind with a rig, you can max out graphics settings, except for just 2 that kill fps, AA, and AF, if you want to play at a good high res, like 1080p, on a modest build, just keep AA at the 2x range or so, AF lower as well, and you'll easily push out 60+ FPS on a 6850 build, especially with that processor and ram.

When I played the beta I barely got 30 fps in Metro at high with 1650x1050, is that normal o do you think maybe a problem with the beat itself or maybe drivers?

but anyway, if the drivers you meant are the ones that supposedly improve the performance of the beta, I installed them before I even downloaded the beta, if not, then Ill check them out.

@xTheBestJokex I'm guessing you have 11.09 installed, you need 11.10 Preview installed. If you google "AMD Preview", it should pop with as the first link.

And if you have installed those drivers, then I don't know what they problem would be...

Im new to pc gaming been a console gamer before, but theres nothing wrong with 30-40 fps minimum right thats perfectly playable? Also if u scaled down ur resolution to 1680x1050 could you play ultra comfortably with that card?

@whoopastar Yes, anything over 30 fps is considered good. Though you will find people that demand only 60 fps, but 30 fps is perfectly fine in my opinion.

As for the second question: maybe.

That's still what I always aim for if I ever need to optimize a game to get over 30. I mean, 30-45 is surely playable, however it feels sluggish to me to go from a 60+ frame rate to 30 [say an explosion or something drops it] like...that feels noticeable.

@JesusSocks I'm not sure what you mean by high end, 4850 isn't exactly comparable to a 6850, you may have to lower it to medium settings.
