It's already been 6 months since I've seen him and it's been the hardest 6 months of my life. I've been told by people that I'm crazy for dealing with it, or that I should find another person. But let me tell you and I'm sure you'll agree, All the service is is their job. they're still people but they're the most amazing people in the world.
And when he deploys in March I will be waiting for those emails, phone calls and skype sessions from him. Because half my heart will be in Afghanistan. I am so proud of him and he knows I am proud of him.
And sometimes I am called weak and desperate and crazy. I just shrugg off comments like that because I know they will never understand what it is really like to be in love with someone in the Marines. When people call me weak, yeah I get mad and offended but I know I am not weak, I think women who are with men in the service they are some of the strongest women in the world. Just like it takes a certain someone to serve, it take a special woman to be married to a Marine or anyone in the militay.
I am not a military wife per say, but I am a military girlfriend and I know I will be promoted to finace' in the next year and a half. But people don't get why I chose this life people cristicize me and say, "Why would you want a life like that where your husband is gone for longer than you've been married?" or "Why would you want to be away from him for months and sometimes year apart from him?" My response is, "I chose this because I fell in love with a Marine."

ty for making this...i said goodbye to my soldier once again today. I stood there with tears in my eyes as i kissed him goodbye while others in the airport watched me; sad for me. I watched this video over and over as i cried. It is so hard, but i am so proud of him!!
u will not understan unless u r a soldiers wife how scared it is to see a car pull up and think it is them telling u something happened to ur husband or how happy u get when u get a letter, email,pr phone call then how happy u get when u finally have hom in ur arms it is the best feeling i mss u drew everytime u go away love u

If you really had strength for your men you'd tell them not to go and die or come back wounded and then beat you up and hang themselves. Women are supposed to see things that men don't. No man would go to war for some slope-shouldered frat boys in Washington if he knew his woman would leave him the moment he signed his life away. You army wags should know better. I am also going through my first deployment - my husband and I are both Marines and we had our first child 2 weeks before he left. everydeay i look at my son and cry because they are missing so much of eachother and i hope that my son will remember his father. I wake up, bring the baby to day care- go to work all day and come home and work again. its hard but i know he is going to be safe and i know he is going to do everythign in his power to come back safe and sound.

I also wanted to add, that i have put a sticker on my car that says army wife is the toughest job in the military. it is very tough i can only imagine how tough it is when they are deployed. i never had to experience that. The closest thing was when he was gone for a week at camp peddleton and he is about to leave again for deployment training for 2 and half weeks. that will be the longest we have been apart. if any one has advice on place to go to when there spouses are deployed thank you all
Proud Army Wife! My husband has been in for 10years. We have been married for 4 years this October. It is very hard. November of 2007 just one month after we got married and i was pregnant with our first child we found out he was getting deployed unfortunately after we found out that he was getting deployed we lost our child. Just recently he just volunteered to deploy. I am really nervous about it, I don't really have people to talk to. Any advice who i can talk to. Thank you for all hard work

oh the months of just wishing to see his face & then one day there he is on the news & your heart is filled with joy & dread at the same time, joy & fear at the ring of the phone, terrified of an unexpected knock on your door & pure elation when they march onto that field, he is home at last, he is safe & I am a happy woman! My heart breaks for my friends who did not have this, I am grateful to them & their soldiers for what I have, I thank all of our troops
even though the relationship with my wife and i did not make it through my whole enlistment. i still give her respect for the time she had to endure while i was gone. WAR IS HELL, and thank you all so mcuh for being there. and thank you so much for your support.....................the hard part is being able to love and understand us when were back home.
I'll be going through my first deployment in June, and my fiance and I are getting married the month before that. I'll be staying home in Virginia with my mom and step-dad for support through the first one and then once we get base housing, I'll be going with my MP to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. The support that's out there among with military girlfriends, fiances, and wives is just amazingly brilliant!

My husband is currently in Afghanistan (Unisted States Army). I live prayer to prayer and hope to God he brings him back home to me alive. We are new parents for the first time to a beautiful baby girl who he left at 2 weeks. I get scared when their's a knock at my door fearing the worse, and I jump when the phone rings. I stay up at ends of nights wondering if my husband is safe, if he's still alive. I LOVE HIM with all heart and I wish this deployment will end soon!!
I made it through my 1st deployment this past year. And it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I have been married 16 years this year and my husband joined the Army 2 years ago. We have a 12 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. The amazing things that I see and the support that I get from complete strangers that are becoming my military family are what help me get through these times.. Thank you for the video. My husband just came from a year in the middle east , and now has been sent for an unaccompanied tour in korea , im expecting a baby ( twins ! ) and he will be gone when i give birth. his dad will be gone to iraq before he leaves for korea , so he wont be able to see him before he leaves.... all this yet we both think its worth more than millions ...freedom is ! I love my husband to bits and i dont question his duty., of course i will miss him ! but i couldnt be more proud of him !
First deployment for the husband and I. We've been married almost 4 months and I haven't seen him in almost a year. 2 weeks from now I'll be the happiest person alive. Unfortunately he'll have to leave again to get housing straight but while he's home they'll be the best 13 days of my life. Best thing to do is try to stay strong and remind them you're here and how much you love and miss them.

I love this !!! it made me cry my fiance is in AIT. I miss him so much! I know hes not deploied but talking to him is rare the only diffrence is I know hes not in combat. but the distance kills. but our love can beat anytime and distance and any amount of tears.

I was in the army from 2000-2004. We were deployed to Iraq in 2003 and when we got back like 3/4 of the guys in my unit got divorced because their wives were seeing someone else. Unfaithful military wives is an epidemic.

People don't know what it is like to not know if your husband is dead or alive, if you will get to talk to for even a minute that day or if you will get to tell him how much you love him one last time, it is not only hard on them but work on the women and children that have to go threw it, and it is really upsetting to see so many people talk bad about our men who are brave enough to fight for us. I have been watching these videos to get me emotionally ready for my life ahead of me. My boyfriend is going into the air force. I know that this won't even get me close to ready for him leaving me for fighting a war to help our country. I love him and will always stand by him no matter how hard it gets. I am 16 and at the rate in which things are going he will be deployed half way through my senior year which means he will miss my prom and graduation. I am proud of him. Love the video!
Wow. I can't imagine being THAT young and going through this. My husband is over there, and it's not easy, but if you pray, have faith, and pray some more... you both can make it. I was 20 years old with a newborn when my hubby went. Stay strong.

Barbara played for us twice while I was stationed at Fort Dix. Youtube shut down the view counter on her video, I think for political reasons. With all the crap on youtube I find that a little baffling. She has created a whole series that you will find on the page for Who Knows Why We Fight. I am also going through my first deployment - my husband and I are both Marines and we had our first child 2 weeks before he left. everydeay i look at my son and cry because they are missing so much of eachother and i hope that my son will remember his father. I wake up, bring the baby to day care- go to work all day and come home and work again. its hard but i know he is going to be safe and i know he is going to do everythign in his power to come back safe and sound.

I also wanted to add, that i have put a sticker on my car that says army wife is the toughest job in the military. it is very tough i can only imagine how tough it is when they are deployed. i never had to experience that. The closest thing was when he was gone for a week at camp peddleton and he is about to leave again for deployment training for 2 and half weeks. that will be the longest we have been apart. if any one has advice on place to go to when there spouses are deployed thank you all

Proud Army Wife! My husband has been in for 10years. We have been married for 4 years this October. It is very hard. November of 2007 just one month after we got married and i was pregnant with our first child we found out he was getting deployed unfortunately after we found out that he was getting deployed we lost our child. Just recently he just volunteered to deploy. I am really nervous about it, I don't really have people to talk to. Any advice who i can talk to. Thank you for all hard work

I'll be going through my first deployment in June, and my fiance and I are getting married the month before that. I'll be staying home in Virginia with my mom and step-dad for support through the first one and then once we get base housing, I'll be going with my MP to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. The support that's out there among with military girlfriends, fiances, and wives is just amazingly brilliant!

My husband is currently in Afghanistan (Unisted States Army). I live prayer to prayer and hope to God he brings him back home to me alive. We are new parents for the first time to a beautiful baby girl who he left at 2 weeks. I get scared when their's a knock at my door fearing the worse, and I jump when the phone rings. I stay up at ends of nights wondering if my husband is safe, if he's still alive. I LOVE HIM with all heart and I wish this deployment will end soon!!

I made it through my 1st deployment this past year. And it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I have been married 16 years this year and my husband joined the Army 2 years ago. We have a 12 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. The amazing things that I see and the support that I get from complete strangers that are becoming my military family are what help me get through these times.. Thank you for the video. My husband just came from a year in the middle east , and now has been sent for an unaccompanied tour in korea , im expecting a baby ( twins ! ) and he will be gone when i give birth. his dad will be gone to iraq before he leaves for korea , so he wont be able to see him before he leaves.... all this yet we both think its worth more than millions ...freedom is ! I love my husband to bits and i dont question his duty., of course i will miss him ! but i couldnt be more proud of him !

First deployment for the husband and I. We've been married almost 4 months and I haven't seen him in almost a year. 2 weeks from now I'll be the happiest person alive. Unfortunately he'll have to leave again to get housing straight but while he's home they'll be the best 13 days of my life. Best thing to do is try to stay strong and remind them you're here and how much you love and miss them.

My boyfriend is currently on tour and I miss him so much that I'm sure he stole my heart and took it with him to afghanistan. I was in the army from 2000-2004. We were deployed to Iraq in 2003 and when we got back like 3/4 of the guys in my unit got divorced because their wives were seeing someone else. Unfaithful military wives is an epidemic.

People don't know what it is like to not know if your husband is dead or alive, if you will get to talk to for even a minute that day or if you will get to tell him how much you love him one last time, it is not only hard on them but work on the women and children that have to go threw it, and it is really upsetting to see so many people talk bad about our men who are brave enough to fight for us. I have been watching these videos to get me emotionally ready for my life ahead of me. My boyfriend is going into the air force. I know that this won't even get me close to ready for him leaving me for fighting a war to help our country. I love him and will always stand by him no matter how hard it gets. I am 16 and at the rate in which things are going he will be deployed half way through my senior year which means he will miss my prom and graduation. I am proud of him. Love the video!

Love it! Hey guys I think you should check out Barbara Kammeyer’s video Who Knows Why We Fight. It is a great video and my wife loves it. Barbara played for us twice while I was stationed at Fort Dix. Youtube shut down the view counter on her video, I think for political reasons. With all the crap on youtube I find that a little baffling. She has created a whole series that you will find on the page for Who Knows Why We Fight. If you like great music with a message, you will like this.

My husabnd is in the NAVY he is deployed in Bahrain and wnt be home till sept but then leaves again 6 months later. This is my first deployment with him but he has been in for 10yrs. we have only been married 5 months. This brought tears to my eyes. Babe I luv U and I miss U so does the kids. I know u will be home soon Just remember WE are here waiting for u and WE LUV U SO MUCH

my boyfriend is in th Navy, and is leaving on his 1st deployment in June.he was in Pensacola,FL;he's now in Lemoore,CA. ...&this actually made me tear a little too. im dreading to have to experience that gut-wrenching feeling when he leaves on that ship :'(

I love this song.. i'm a navy wife and my husband is often deployed and can not even tell me where he is because of his job. we have a toddler and she often asks where is daddy, and says daddy byebye. Breaks my heart. but we know daddy is always in our hearts and we will get to be with daddy soon.

You are right. I will never know why you do the things you do. I know why I do alot of those things though. with a brother as an army Sgt. I look forward to that 3 minute call. I miss and worry about him all the time. He is being deployed to Afghanistan in Sept. Please support your troops.
