Interesting documentary. I toss around the idea of joining every now and then, sometimes i hear and see things that encourage me to, sometimes I hear things that make me feel like I couldn't do it. Guess Ill figure that out when I do some growing up, only 17 right now.
Question: If I was charged with a misdemeanor for drug paraphernalia in the U.S. over ten years ago, will that prevent me from enlisting in the French Foreign Legion? I have no felonies and am not a drug user. If anyone knows the answer to this question that would be much appreciated! Thanks.

No no no no, Los SEALS are a little bit more intensive when it comes to physical and mental training. I was in the US Marines and the Legion was always placed in the highest regard, but the Navy SEALS are more selective.

Also on Day if the US Army was so good, why were your biggest casualties on D-Day caused by your landing boat crews being to afraid to come right up onto the beach, instead they were dropping soldiers out in the sea, no where near the beach, so a lot drowned and were easy targets for the german guns and also if you read your history the british and Canadians had to break their beach heads and then come and help you guys because you were stuck on your beach.
have you ever assaulted a fortified beach? If it is fortified correctly the object is to blockade he beach head so that landing craft cannot access the beach, forcing the crew to be offloaded into the water and make them easier for u to shoot. This is the goal of fortifying a beach. You are speaking very naive

I havent had anymore thoughts and have been happy would the Frecnch Foreign Legion take me? I really like how good they are.

Well, the first one (37 yo) says that he's tired and would like to rest a little, but he has no other choice but to continue. The other says he will continue until the end (about the course). And about the grades, only the first two are in order.

Also on Day if the US Army was so good, why were your biggest casualties on D-Day caused by your landing boat crews being to afraid to come right up onto the beach, instead they were dropping soldiers out in the sea, no where near the beach, so a lot drowned and were easy targets for the german guns and also if you read your history the british and Canadians had to break their beach heads and then come and help you guys because you were stuck on your beach.

have you ever assaulted a fortified beach? If it is fortified correctly the object is to blockade he beach head so that landing craft cannot access the beach, forcing the crew to be offloaded into the water and make them easier for u to shoot. This is the goal of fortifying a beach. You are speaking very naive

The Uk had been fighting the Germans since 1939, the only reason the USA entered the war is because Japan bombed peril Harbor, you sent troops to the pacific, the only time you sent troops to Europe is when Germany declared war on you because it was one of Japans allies. It was not until 1943 US troops actually fought in Europe.

So please don't go shooting your mouth off about how the USA saved the British, as we did all the dirty fighting way before you HAD to join the war because you were bombed, you never wanted to enter the war, that is common knowledge , in fact the USA were in discussions with Germany regarding trade etc, because you thought the British were beaten, you only entered when Japan and Germany declared war on you. Don't believe all that Hollywood tells you happened in their films.

Buddy, the difference between an obstacle course and a real battle is hardly anything. The US had to bail out France so many times after they got their asses handed to them in WW2. for example, The greatest air battle of WW2 "The Battle of Britain", North African Battle for El Alamein 1 & 2 were all done by the UK before Germany declared war on the USA. Plus we found three Enigma machines before you entered the war, even though Hollywood would have you believe they found them ........YAWN, just get a degree in war and society or History, then you will see that yes the USA were a help, but you are not the big saviour of WW2 like you all think

@bigtaff22, i have been rejected by the us military because i was honest and said i had one time had suicidal thoughts. but i recognized that wasnt good got some help and learned stress coping techniques. I havent had anymore thoughts and have been happy would the Frecnch Foreign Legion take me? I really like how good they are.

Wesleykjar> I have asked a few friends who have served with the Legion, as I only served in the british Army and they have said is that the best thing to do is not tell them when your at your interviews, they have tough questioning sessions to find out about your background, but that is mainly to find out if you are who you say you are and have not got any serious criminal convictions in the past.
So I would follow my mates advice and not mention anything about having suicidal thoughts.

The US Navy Seals are probably the most highly trained force in the world right with the Spetsnaz (who do things that in every country would be considered illegal, but tough shit). Interesting videos! my French is not good enough to understand everything (also because of the accents) but at the end when the reporter asked if they were going to continue the foreign legion one said that he was going to think about it but thought he was to old for this? and what did the other say? in the end when he gave the grades (averages), why did he say 15 and 14? are those normal grades you use? and the first one was the best of them all and the third third or was it in random order?

the 14 and 15 you heard are the grade they get. In french schools and universities we get our work rated with numbers not letters. 15 is very good.
