I made a movie thats small enough in size, all files exist, but it doesnt wnt to save the movie. i get this message:

"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the file to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."

I thought Video Large was the best for quality. It's actually 2.1? Also when I use the speed up effect on a clip it also affects the following clips. I try right clicking on the following clip to remove the effect but there is none to be found. I am using xp & version 2.1. Any thoughts?

Im running windows XP Ive been trying to get my movie maker talk to my webcam no such luck. If I import video from my web cam they are saved as WMV tells me WMM does not support it. @BetaFlux that says not support and when I try to capture from web cam I get these error messages It looks like its not recognizing the web cam Ive installed, uninstalled and installed again but heres the error messages: The device is not responding. Close any other applications that is using the device and try capturing again.

after clicking ok another error pops up and says: The video cannot be used at this time because there has been an error when starting the device

@ninemmruger2666 Make sure you try using the webcam normally first make sure it works then use it in movie maker. Sounds like it is a problem with your webcam not movie maker.

@ninemmruger2666 They come with other programs when you install them, like burning software and video editing stuff, or dvd movie playing software like Divx player.

do a google search for the divx player and make sure you have the latest version of windows media player.

@maarnie123 Sorry, I dont use hypercam, but there should be a setting in there for what type of video you want it to create such as WMV or AVI etc.. or you might have to use a video converter before you can import into movie maker, I made a video for (Any Video Converter) it works great.

Or when you go to import the files, look under (files of type) menu and change it to all files.

I don't use one but ppl are saying that the video has to be in MP4 format, a good codec pack if you don't know which one you need is (k-lite) do a google search for k-lite codec pack.

Sometimes installing other software like burning programs can cause wmm to do goofy stuff like that, If you have installed any software lately.

you could also try a system restore and go back to when wmm was working properly

probably because of the way they were put together by your camera. you may have to use the software that came with it to upload movies to your pc then import them, or try turning on different filters in movie maker, you might be missing the needed codec for your type of video footage as well.

Hi, I try to converted 2 hrs DVD movies put on movie maker and save it to my D: drive it took 3hrs to save the file and also take for ever to upload to youtube. What is the best setting should I used for saving such a big video, after I download to Youtube it was rejected " length of video is too long". How do I fix it please. Movie maker usually will only work well if the video is under 20 minutes long, youtube has a file size limit of 100mb and 20 minutes length.

youll have to put it into like 10 parts (part 1 - 0:00 start of movie to 10:00 into movie) part 2 10:01 to 20:00) and so on until you get the ending... but i doubt the video will stay on long because of copyrights so it will most likely the video will bebe deleted and your account could be banned or (if your lucky) the video will be deleted only and your account can be temporaily banned ( a week i think it is)(jk just dont do it all its kind of stupid)

If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

You are missing a codec, it may help installing the latest version of windows media player which is version 11 I think.

Yeah probably because it is not a real cam corder, but you should be able to import the video like the same way you do with pictures.

Right click on my computer and choose "Manage" look through the event viewer and see if you can tell what happened, it will give you a list of errors and what file or program caused it.
