i love her fugue! her interpretation is rather unique, especially with the accents and phrasing. Better than Richter's crazy I'm Totally In a Hurry method.
Balls of steel. That's my Joanna. She just goes for it! Yet still with an ease and flow to the 16th notes that make them fit the contour of each and every line. Also love the way she brings the dynamic level out of the more important moving voice while other parts are rolling quietly in the background. I didn't get that feminine touch from the Richter recording. It's refreshing. So balls of steel AND Vag of...fur? Seems the appropriate antithesis for the reference. Surely no Brazilian there.
