One thing synonymous with being an SLS singer is the extensive use of post processing in the studio. A lot has to be done to build up the voice. Classical singers do not have this problem. Manning has a lot to hide and its all behind that thick bullshit exterior.
well i liked it before it was "modernized." if you listen to singers from the 80s and 90s they sound nothing like singers today. the sound got away...now he trains singers to sound too bright and thin
@bronx43 Josh Groban was already talented before Seth Riggs got to him. The "great" SLS singers you hear had a great sound to begin with. All that Seth Riggs does it make it a little easier for them to sing their songs, but he certainly doesn't build voices from scratch. Brett Manning's "new" technique may be a bit more complete, but it still won't completely take a below-average voice and build a balanced voice the majority of the time.
Agreed. This technique is only good enough to get you to become a studio singer whereas in a live singing situation you really need strength and power. Some of the students he works with already have natural abilities that they intuitively go for. But Brett himself doesn't have much substance in his voice. And he's a shameless promoter and charges $250 per lesson. I would run (not walk) away from his studio!
@chococat34 Agreed. Brett's best-sounding students were already good, he just made their singing a bit easier. To build a voice from the ground up, you probably want a good classical training. Contrary to what Manning and his old Yoda mentor Seth Riggs will tell you, not all classical training will make you sound like an opera singer. I've heard amusing stories from classical teachers/singers about how they make a good living retraining former SLS students. What went wrong with THEM?!? XD
THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER. BUT I LOVE MY MOM SO I AM NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES.If you don't copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours.
No, theyre separate, but with the set that i have (not the vibrato one) you learn abotu your voice and what if feels liek to sing properly that vibrato comes naturally.

What the hell are you talking about? You do realize that SLS is essentially bel canto modernized.

Josh Groban was SLS from the time he debuted until two years ago. Was his voice heavily processed?
