Glad you like the lights, as with anything it depends how you use the lights, we use them only when the vehicle is stopped and unloading passengers. I am sure in all 50 states driving down the road with them on would attract unwanted attention.
I definitely depends on various state laws but this BS that RED is legal in the rear because your brake lights are red is BS. Flashing or alternating flashing red or blue lights are considered EMERGENCY LIGHTING and are only allowed on authorized emergency vehicles only...now I'm talking MI law MCL 257.698.
Wow, how cool and very illegal. The chief of police, county sheriff or state police can't issue "waivers" against state law. The mere POSSESSION of that stupid shit here in Michigan will get you arrested and your car impounded.
its only illegal if they drive with them on. if they are parked its not illegal and can be used for public safety so the people dont get hit coming out of it. i sure they got permission from the chief of police or the state
Red is legal in the BACK of your vehicle. and replace your hazard lights. The second you put that thing in drive with all the those lights running your screwed. Private property and stopped PARKED vehicles it is legal on. Don't think your cool and do it in traffic. Money has it there is a cop within 10 car lengths of you if your trying to get through traffic.
Is this the president's private transport limo??? It seems weird to have red and white and the fact this is for FAMOUSE rich people with billions riding in this cause it is so freakin awesome that it's a lot of money.
I have Red and White and Amber LED's on the rear of my Comcast van. As long as the red are displayed on the rear of the vehicle, they are legal in Indiana.
Its pretty ridiculously stupid and irresponsible, though. From a distance (obviously) people can mistake this for a fire engine, and waste their time trying to find an alternate route or end up taking business from these stores.
(Not that *I* don't sometimes follow fire engines to see some carnage LOL)
Pick up a copy of the Florida statutes and give them a read. It is illegal to display BLUE lights ANYWHERE on your car, but in Florida RED lights are ONLY illegal if they face the FRONT. :-)
DUDE you have no idea what you are talking about. POV, Fire, EMS, and Police lights are regulated by STATE LAW not FEDERAL LAW. This means that you cant possibly say "they are illegal everywhere." It varies from state to state.
@co19ff Actually it's not at all.. red is legal in the back as are strobes.
When I first asked about red in the rear I thought they were illegal as well but an officer, here in KS anyway, told me if red were illegal your taillights would be as well, made sense just hadn't thought of it that way.

not illegal if it's an undercover limo car!
djalex2fou 1 year ago
This is legal, because they had to get a permit. Besides, they are just warning lights because of the HUGE size of the vehicle.

It's beast though because you can turn that on and people think its a fire truck and move out of your way. So no more traffic.

Illegal only when used while on public roads. Use them in private parking lots and nothing the police can do.
