I recently checked out a Chicago 51 by Valco, amazing tone 2 6v6's serial number dated it at 1951 i think. how many watts will this thing push. I want to play harp through it and I am afraid it will be to quiet. Amazing studio tone!! Its this a very small room to studio amp or will it handle a larger setting.
@countrybill65 Mine sounds great with Harp . With the 10 inch and the 6V6s you can turn er up some and it howls. At least with my Shure Black label equipped bullet it does. Makes for a nice pair they really complement each other. Never had a problem with it not being loud enough. But you can always mic up. 51s rule. My amp tech calls my Supro Superman with good reason.
I love and want Great tube tones but I have a real problem . I live in a attached house with many close neighbors . I desire a tube amp with good tone when it's played at very low volumes . Money is less of an issue . Any sugestions other than moving ? Thxs , Jerry .
I have the same amp. They have a beautiful tone, great crunch, and are very expressive. The tube line up on my amp is as follows: 6v6 (2), 6sc7, 6j7, and 5y3gt rectifier. 10" speaker with transformer attached. Single volume knob.
I just discovered these amps today on youtube. Did you find something like this on ebay, and if you don't mind me asking-about how much for an amp like yours?Soungs great and cool playing. Cheers

Do you still have this amp? I might be interested in buying it off of you if you have an interest in selling it.

E-Gad! I take it back. I see old Supro's selling on eBay for $500 to $750 or more. Who would'a thought it!

I got this Amp with a Guitar I bought - I have no idea what one would cost but I wouldn't think they would be that expensive.
