  • johnny cash or june carter ant alive but there music will live on for ever..

  • hate having this song directed towards me.

  • I love this song. Thanks for posting this video.

  • So they were actually older when all this happened? In Walk The Line, they look so young....

  • @infinity1613 they were still young when they sung it,they just made it into a duet over the following years.

  • poor johnny, he had to move his feet in a way he would never have done if asked.

    .

  • Bob Dylan is a fantastic writer tho his singing is sub par. Bob wrote many amazing songs. But cash, his voice is so unique and deep. Love johnny and all of his work, his life story is amazing and all the shit he went through. And the story between him and June is very touching and amazing as well. Johnny is one of the best musicians of all time. Same goes for Dylan as well

  • great cover, and 1 of my fav dylan tracks

  • i ove this man and i love the fim walk the line so does my 11 yr old

  • How the hell is Bob Dylan version of this song is NOT AVAILABLE on youtube?

  • @mihsathe Hardly any Bob Dylan versions of anything are available on YouTube, all you get is people doing covers of his stuff, either on stage properly like in this video, or in their bedrooms. It's so annoying.

  • @mihsathe It is. Just search It Ain't Me Babe Bob Dylan. It should come up, I did for me anyway.

  • June saved his life - a wonderful couple - with great songs !

  • 17 people don't know what good music is.

  • everybody wants a guy like johnny cash :D

  • i heard he died when the building he was in collapsed during an earthquake

  • YEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • This video has been struck by -

    Interlacer: The DESTRUCTOR.

  • She is always so happy and beautyful!

  • @melfriend7 NO! It was written by the one and only fantasticly amazing poetic genius that is Bob Dylan. Stupid Turtles. Taking credit for the work of the best lyricist of all time...

  • @XdisXesXwhyXimXhawtX

The Turtles are actually a really underrated force in 60's music. They didn't take credit, their version is just really popular.

  • is that a turtles song

  • I love this song but sorry they didnt do much for it.

  • haha I'm glad all you know how much they loved each other based on a youtube video. They butchered this song! Dylan did it sooo much better

  • @mewithoutyou102

Dylan was a poet, Cash was a singer........

  • I have to say I think they've turned it into a jingle and robbed the song of it's emotional pain and frustration which Dylan charged it with. But that's just my opinion.

  • @JonWhatsHisName But what a jingle, allthough you are right, I'm just a sucker for johnny cash and june carter.

  • I SO GLAD HE LOVED HER SO MUCH

  • JC loved her so much.

  • perfect duo, perfect couple.

  • they are better than sonny and cher i wonder if sonny and cher got their song i got u babe for this song

  • The best singer(s) ever. You can be the most bleeding heart liberal or the most hardcore conservative out there with any sort of musical taste and you will still find something to love about johnny cash.

  • @Thag20 true.

  • 14 stupids dilike it

  • It Really Was Real Love :-)

  • He danced!!!!! Johnny was just the best male singer ever.

  • I want a guy like Johnny Cash<3

  • @Taygrd Take it easy killer!

  • The true King and Queen of Country Music.

He knew he loved June from the monent he saw her and wouldn't let her got away and he never did let her get away. Johnny spoke to the common man, he made you feel like he was your friend. I wish I had know him, to be able talk to him or even sit and play guitar with truely one of country brightest and best.

They fought for each other, they loved each other and they died for each other, that my friends is true love

    R.I.P J.J cash/Carter

  • June is the QUEEN of my heart 'cause she saved Johnny's life - she definitely rescued his life - and gave us herewith so much unforgettable songs - I'm so grateful !

  • Johnny is like the Muddy Waters of Country music

  • she pretty

  • they were married here

  • were they together at this point?

  • @thecritiqu Yes I believe they were

  • @catkisser get a new boyfriend... he's no johnny.

  • @Ramonesgirl29 DITTO, D CHEMISTRY WAS THERE FROM THEIR FIRST SEEING EACH OTHER "I LOVED THEM BOTH" RIP, BIG FAN OF JOHNNY & JUNE

  • my uncle! and aunty june!

    !

  • @ethankernaghan wow!!!!!1 really

  • My boyfriend has a GREAT voice and I am a soprano... I would love it if he woud agree to perform this with me.

  • I think the exact words in the lyrics are things Johnny were worried for. That he wouldn't be able to give her what she deserved. But thank god that he didn't give up. :)

  • sorry but this does not do the song any justice.

  • @manhattanishappening Sorry everyone likes diferent things. Bob Dyan could write a decent song(well in the 60's) but his voice was never equal to Johnny Cash's. As for performers if good ole Bob tours till he's 100 he never have Johnny & June's talent and magic.

  • @TheHughLundy Bob Dylan is a poet. From a musical standpoint, he can't sing for his life, i'll give you that. Yet there's something about his voice that resonates when I hear those early 60's heartbreaking ballads like "It Ain't me babe." The song seems like its meant to be sung in a melancholy manner, which this lacks. Its just not a great cover.

But of course, these two certainly have chemistry that will remain unsurpassed, theres no denying that.

  • @TheHughLundy Thanks I certainly agree with you Bob Dyan's early 60's work is the work of a poet.Only one of very few song writers I would put into this class(Leonard Cochen, Lou Reed & Elvis Costello). Sorry but for me anyway Johnny Cashs And Charlotte Gainsbourghs versions are sadder & ring more true. Still it would be awfu if everyone liked the same thing.

  • @manhattanishappening It's the fast tempo and Johnny Cash doesn't convey a lot of feeling in this one. I think i heard another version by him where he does it much better.

  • All the people in the world & they managed to find each other....jealous!

  • campy

  • @musterdable 2012

  • Beautiful!

  • her voice tuches me every time wow

  • he tried sooo hrd to get her and she finally gave thank god they were meant

  • @Ramonesgirl29

and i love dylans AND cashs music so much

    so much pain

  • Nunca había escuchado esta versión, solo la de Bob Dylan.

  • They are so perfect for each other, their story is amazing.

  • wonderful. this is love :)

  • Odd, I always thought that Bob Dylan sang this...?

  • @MrNannerman Bob Dylan sang and wrote it...Johnny doesn't even give him credit before he sings it.

  • @username1782 Well, there aren't many artists who DO give credit before singing. They get permission from the original writer/singer and they take it from there. Bob Dylan was not responsible for the way they made this song their very own, they did that themselves.

  • God Bless you both; Johnny & June forever

  • Gotta love Johnny dancing!

  • Grande Cash

  • I just wish to I would find such love like was between johnny & june < 3

    Simply beautiful and clear love.

  • @12584975 Yeah, that makes two of us!!

  • Best love story ever! june & johnny

  • The two of them are so great to watch on stage. . . they shine a new light on this song.

  • She was the girl of his life....

  • check out my cover pleaseeeee

  • nice duo.

    rip

  • June Carter Cash en Johnny Cash(R.I.P)

  • well he had to make it sound like his, if that werent the case whatd be the point of of fuckin singing it?

  • i sung this song 2 my girlfriend :) this song is amazing :)

  • @AJTHEAWSOMEGOTH god bless you man i wish i had the balls to

  • @sesipe02 thank you, you will one day. :)

  • Too many songs are just imitations of an original song. The really good covers are the ones that take a song and make it into something completely different. It's not cheap imitation, it's taking something that was already there and turning it into something new. That's art.

  • No offense to a great musician, but Johnny Cash fucking massacred this song. He just turned it into a fucking sing along. Not to mention, he ruined the build up of the "someone to open each and every door/someone to die for you and more/etc." by speeding it up so much.

Goddamn Johnny, you really fucked up something great here.

  • And I think Bob's original version is a high-pitched hell. We all have different opinions... Anyway, this is Johnny's style. Many of us like it that way, as many prefer the original version. Whatever, both Bob and Johnny were good friends and great musicians as well.

  • @jimih64 calm down-art is subjective. Oy Vei

  • @tytyty858 This isn't art. This is an untimely Christmas special.

  • @jimih64 johnny cash rules dont talk like that about him

  • @huntingking17 lololol take off, I've already given him my respects. Just saying, he did an unholy deed here.

  • It is these two!

  • Compare this stage behaviour with Cher and Sonny in ''I've got you babe''.

  • This is not Bob Dylan song, - original is by the Turtles from 1965.

  • the song was released by bob dylan in 1964.

  • wrong... the turtles covered it, it was written by bob, most likely about edie sedgwick

  • @DJplastelina I don't know if ur trolling or if u honestly believe this, but Bob Dylan did actually write this. He wrote it in 1964. The Turtles released their cover (on their eponymous album) in 1965. The song is even credited to Dylan in the linear notes of the album. Check it out for yourself if you want. Not blowing up on you or anything, just spreading the truth. Plenty of people probably think this is a Turtles song, as their version got pretty popular.

  • @JuJuHound Yeah, U are right. That's Bob Dylan's song. I just have heard Turtles version and thought it is older. Btw, have you watched I'm not there; is it good movie?

  • @DJplastelina Nah, I actually downloaded it, but havn't watched it yet. It looks strange but I've heard it is good. However, I have seen some great documentaries on Dylan, if you enjoy his personality. I love watching him in old footage because he is just so sarcastic and witty, and always seems to be messing with someone. But I would reccomend 1) The San Francisco Press Conference (u can find it here on YouTube) 2) Don't Look Back (for some good 'behind the scene's type stuff) and

  • @DJplastelina and 3) The Other Side of the Mirror for some good old rare live footage. Good stuff man! Dylan sure is a character.

  • It's great when they look at each other. That's real love.

  • thats real stage perfgormance more like

  • when was this? epic song and performance =D

  • THIS Is a Bob DYLAN song. Cash and Dylan collaberated a few times.

  • i love the way he dance! lol

    Johnny Cash is an idol!

  • R.I.P Johnny & June cash

  • Yes.. that is Marty Stuart.. hired after Marshall Grant was fired after being falsely accused of bilking money from Johnny.

  • Comment removed

  • is that Farty Marty stuart right behind Johnny?

  • I wish they had held hands all along the song

  • Comment removed

  • yes i think he wrote it for his first wife =)

  • Johnny Cash wrote "Understand Your Man" for Vivian, his first wife, around 1964 when their marriage was falling apart. It was very similar to Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice It's Allright". Cash acknowledged in the liner notes to Dylan's "Nashville Skyline" album that he imitated him, but Dylan also acknowleged that he admired Cash. His appearance on "The Johnny Cash Show" in 1969 was rare and one of only a few he did during that time. When Cash died in 2003 Dylan said he was the "North Star".

  • Bob Dylan wrote this song. ;)

  • No, it's by Bob Dylan.

  • Comment removed

  • @MsOrlandos no bob dylan wrote this song.

  • @MsOrlandos no the original song is by The Turtles which is also an amazing song.

  • Bob Dylan wrote it.

  • Fuck you asshole this is classic

  • Johnny and June cash will always rock!!!!!!!!!

  • don't like the dylan version, don't like the baez version .... i need music that makes my toes whip, my hips heart to beat in rhythm.

    thats what johnny delivers ...

  • dylan wrote it to her female fans, clearly.

  • If just my man will look at me that way when we're that age...

  • Dylan has received credit for everything he's ever written for others and tunes others have covered. That's one of the reasons he's so huge... and rich.

  • The 1964 recording wasn't a duet with Joan Baez. It's an acoustic version off the Another Side of Bob Dylan album.

  • Dylan has so many songs he wrote that others recieved credit for. He is an amazing and ultimate songwriter and deserves credit when due.

  • This is how it is; Dylan wrote it not about a relationship, but about his relationship with the protest singer movement. He was tired of it all, and tired of the performers, the beatniks, and this emerging group called "hippies" trying to make him out to be a great hero. Thats how it is.

  • no bob dylan wrote the song

  • true but he wrote it for Johnny and June.

  • I think you're correct. Not sure why people voted you a thumbs down.

  • i dont know im pretty sure im right Johnny and June recorded it years before Bob did.(i cant remember who sang with him though)

  • Dylan never wrote a song for anyone. He writes and zillion others cover them. This song was recorded by Dylan and Baez long before Cash.

  • Alright i retract my previous statement Dylan recorded it in 64 with Baez and Cash and Carter in 65 its been covered several times over by various artists.

  • no, bob dylan is the writer of this song

  • other way around, bro.

  • hmmm, thanks (:

  • Is there any video of Johhny asking June to marry hum in Toronto?
