Male Officers Lucey and Bernstein have been the noted organizers of the "Cuffs without Muffs" society, a gay sex club ran by police for police at 300 N. New Ballas Road, Creve Coeur, MO, 63141. The female officers (Officer Grace Jones) started a similar sex club within the department known as the "Butch & Bald Club". Internal Affairs investigations have been conducted into members of these underground police ran sex clubs and the production of obscene pornography that includes coprophilia.
This makes me so nostalgic - I danced with Childgrove for years (even played some dances) until I moved away in 1985. Great music, great caller, great dancing, great community. Post more!
Great to see and hear this wonderful music and dancing in my old home community. I can't believe it's been over 27 years since my first Childgrove contra dance in the basement of the church on Delmar and Jackson(?). Thanks, Mac!
This is an old time tune called Polk County Breakdown. I am not sure - but I beleive it is a ture that originated in Missouri. The old-time style has many of the roots you mentioned.
Why should it shame you? It's a fun atmosphere that people enjoy. If you're not one of those people then obviously you won't go to a dance. But it has no negative impact on you or your lifestyle.
Ya dude. And if you're contra dancing and you type up up down down left right left right a b a b select start, you never mess up and you get infinite slick spin moves
I'm proud to live in a city with such a thriving contra dance community. Contra dance was around long before the video game, bahbzilla, and I hope it will still be around long after.
It might be "Top Spin" and Kathy Anderson may be the author. I have seen another dance with a very different B part also called Top Spin. Kathy introduced this one with that name but did not mention the composer. Anyone have more reliable information
I feel like Bilbo and Frodo and Sam should be dancing.

um... it's 2009 actually. Contra dance is timeless fun. Just do a YouTube search for "St. Louis Youth Contra", or "Dirtycool Contra Dancing"

What's the name of music? Is the music Irish? Scottish? English?
