  • @MrCachorrillo matter of fact I will top that. Although I had damn near nosebleeds when I saw the Isley Brothers back in 2001, I saw Ernie perform front row last year and shook his hand after the concert at the Jimi Hendrix Experience tour!! Seeing him is one thing but actually meeting someone who's influenced you the play the guitar and shaking the hand he rips the axe with is a life changing experience!

  • The guitar player in this group can match up with any Rock -n Roll White Group every.

  • yeah sure. why do you have to go there? the riffs in this song are so rudementary. get a grip

  • Thanks so much for this! Love this song and I'm so grateful that you took the time to put this on Youtube!

  • the opening of this still manages to make the hairs stand on end: chillin'.

Can't believe that this is so old - it must be, I was about 12 when it was released lol !!!Has to make my All-Time Top 20 Songs Ever!!

Just had to listen to this again as I'd heard it earlier, being blasted out by my son, getting ready for a night out with the lads. Good taste must be in the genes son x

  • For a white kid living in a small town. This song blew me away. Made me a lifelong Isley Brothers fan. Thanks.

  • Damn! This is indeed the jam.

  • too fuckenn downn♥

  • Mitica!

  • my favorite song in the world really...

  • I'm 53 this brings me back to about 16 years old back in the Lafayette Gardens Projects. Theirs sound was in the parks and at birthday parties. It's when I started smoking grass. It was funky, psicodelic, and keep on trucking times. Remember those bellbottoms, plattform shoes, hippies and fro's. YeahHHH mannn! cool times!

  • Had to find this song after watching Anchorman (for the 1000th time)........

  • 7 people looking at trannys

  • What a Unique and Irreplaceable Sound! I love this music!

  • Definitely the JAM of Summer '73, right, gang? the Isleys hit #6 in Billboard, 10-6-73. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • I've never heard a lead guitar tone quite like the one on this song. It's absolutely gorgeous.

  • @flamebait07 many people don't know this, but a young Jimi Hendrix played with the Isley Brothers before achieving solo success, as did a young Elton John.

  • @flamebait07 Ernie Isley at his Best !!!

  • this song is an audio orgasm!

  • @whitejoneswhitejones first time i heard, it is masterpiece

  • Jimi played on the original (1964) version of this song, back when he was just a studio cat. I've heard that Ernie's solo on this version was a deliberate tribute to Jimi... unless you wanna believe that he was briefly possessed by Jimi's ghost.

Can't say which version is "better", though. They're too different to compare, but they're both damn good.

  • 7 people still play with G.I. Joe

  • One of my Rock R&B favs. Peace.

  • this is the kind of song that should be stored in a time capsule ,sent into space and hopefully show aiens what real music sounds like !!!

  • JIM HENDRIX, ERNIE ISLEY ADE THE BADDEST GUITAR PLAYERS IN THE LAND

  • the guitar player played with Jim Hendrix. They knew each other.

  • @SJMarie Ernie Isley. Hendrix played with them for a short wile.

  • ernie , one of musics most under rated guiterist .

  • Awesome!!!

  • Jimi did play with this group. Is it justJimi's influence or is he really playing on this track. Sure sounds like him. Any way great funky music.

  • @littlewingedangel3 This album was recorded and released in 1973. Jimi Hendrix died in 1970. So him playing on this would obviously be impossible.

  • @cheifguggletram The poster said only with the group, not on this cut.

  • that is such an awesome song. i got lost in it for a least 3 minutes

  • i wonder who that lady is....

  • any one know it that is Jimi Hendrix on guitar???? i know he was in the group

  • @gmaltese

Jimi Hendrix whs NOT a Isley Brother, sorry.

Ernie Isley is the "Magician" on the lead gutiar.

Do a search for him. One version he plays the solo behind his head and never misses a note.

    He's a lead gutiar stud.

    Peace.

  • @PrinceofPeace9957 Jimi Hendrix actually did play guitar for the Isley Brothers for a while. 1964-1966

  • @gmaltese jIMI hENDRIX was in the group in the mid sixties before being a star. I guess he left an influence there...

  • what a solo

  • @DaveWollenberg Ernie played the drums on this track. wat u hear is Chris on the keyboard. that ain't no guitar.

  • @toekie101 Your information is wrong; that's a guitar alright. Great song.
