Makati is a totally different place today because of the ongoing renovations but honestly I still like the old Makati. Its beauty and simplicity before is incomparable.
Thanks for bringing back the memories! 1991 was the year I started working and my office was located there in Makati along Ayala Ave., so those places and scenes are very familiar to me. :-)
Great video! I remember walking around the Ayala avenue area during my college days. What's the name of the music playing in the background? Good background music.
I was in Manila from 25 March 1991 until 25 May 1991. I was staying in Ermita, but travelled to Makati a few times to visit my embassy there. This is how I remember it. And those old taxis - yellow - with sugary wording on their sides. Ford escorts.
That was the time of rampant 12 hour brownouts. Katatapos lang den ng 7.7 earthquake. I really hate those times since lubog na lubog ang economy ng Philippines nyan after numerous cous. And our image was sooooooo battered internationally. Yan ang mga nakakahiyang taon...

I was 4 at that time and now I'm 23 and presently living in Makati.. It's nice to see this video and do a comparison with the present time. I am inspired by your videos.. thanks for posting.. :)
if ever by chance you come back again, you'd be amazed at how cluttered the skyline is w/the construction of the taller towers. that skyline is just so wide open compared to now.
Man! I miss the Philippines! I'm in Canada now! And i really want to go back. This video is really good! I miss the jeepneys. The sound. & the look ofcourse. Haha. Thanks for sharing!
maganda nga pero di parin control ung traffic useless!!
