@BruceH59 I can understand your fears, anger & concerns for your fellow man............I just don't happen to share them.
I would be upset too if my dog was killed by wolves but I hope I would have the common sense not to reclaim their eradication. Things have changed with the increaing wolf population & so you can't live as care-free as you did before, take precauations & adapt.
I sure wish I was there to the situation for myself, rather than rely on news reports.

So you can live in gross ignorance and over protect wolves to slaughter dogs right in front of small children or you can join the side of right and help get hunting and trapping season on wolves to control them teach them to fear man and avoid people and homes. That is what control methods do not wipe them out.

On what basis would the control be organised. Kill every wolf seen or target the young or old, kill the cubs, or elininate the pack leaders so the rest of the packs will be disorganised.?
& once the cull started how would it end, on what criteria ?

The problem is... today's elk and deer are inferior specimens in comparison to their ancestors. Trophy hunting and mans interference over the decades has left behind an inferior animal that is easy prey for the wolf. If left alone, it would take hundreds of years for the herds to re-build the strength to live amoungst the wolf, as it did for millions of years. The average deer in states like Georgia are now the size of a golden retriever. The whole thing is a giant mess imo.
