Nick I have learned all four solo's you have on You Tube I cant thank you enough for taking the time to teach and give for free something you worked so hard to achieve
My guitar playing has improved thanks to you and other like you ..
You truly are the kind of person that make me believe there is hope for the human race ROCK ON
@doctornerve - Back in 1998 I found both individual albums at a used record shop in Downingtown PA for 50 cents a piece. Perfect condition. I never heard of you prior to that but I was simply intrigued by the cover and the titles of the songs. I've always been one to dig deep to find unique music. After spinning them I thought, "why would gems like these be sold so cheaply, or even given up like this?"
Guess I'm just one of the weird ones who was never brainwashed by disposable pop culture.
@ProfessorEggflesh This is a GREAT story. Thanks a lot for posting here. The Used Bin has been one of the great troves of discovery for me as well. I think I got VDGG Godbluff for $1.99... just liked the black cover and figured I'd try it. Ka-Boom.
OMG! freaking cool! that guitar riff is terrific! you're a really good guitarist! anyway, the brass to me sounded a bit, ehm... weird! lol, keep on rockin'!!!
Hehe yeah I can be pretty intolerant sometimes. I just don't like the way people confuse metal heads for emos. Seriously they totally copy the metal head style. The last thing I want to be compared to is a whiny person with bad taste in music.
rt on. I have instantly become all the more pleased, proud even, that you dug this video... people with strong opinions (and a sense of humor about it) are counted among the best of the best of our friends.
great man! like i told you, you rule;) maybe i'm completly deaf but your riff seems to be inspired by master of puppets, but maybe i'm wrong. anyway, awesome;)
Thanks a lot. Master of Puppets is a cool connection to make. I remember being inspired by both John Paul Jones's Zooma and the Cowboys from Hell riff when I wrote the main lick.
Cool song! Is that a PRS you are playing? If so, how do you like it compared to SGs? I have an SG and was strongly considering a PRS, but went with a Les Paul in the end (love it!).
Yes, a Paul Reed Smith custom. Wonderful guitar. 24 frets, whammy bar, and the five position pickup switch make it extremely versatile. If I can take only one guitar to a gig, it's this one.
Somehow this reminds me of some frank klepacki songs

This was my music in the 80ies. And this movie is a reason to rediscover my old vinyl!! Especially: out to bomb fresh kings.

this is some big band music. not prog =)
could be big band groove metal.
cause the riff sounds like pantera.
and pantera titled itself as groove metal.
and this is with a big band.
