I was at Seattle Symphony on 16NOV2010. (first in line with this CD) This pair is very special. The concert program was Prokofiev, Mendellsohn and Rachmaninov. sonatas. The Prokofiev blew me away. But, the andante from the Rachmaninov ripped the heart right out of my chest. I have rarely been moved like this. Thank you, Gabby and Gautier. Superb.

At 9:30 Gautier´s sound is a real incarnation of du Pré´s sound. Frisson is the word that illustrate what these two really talented and simple artists create every time they play together

I recommend you very much the Grieg sonata account live at Lugano (EMI 7243 5 62970 2 9). From all the versions I have listen to, the one I like the most.

Emiclassics wants us to buy the CD, so they post this video. Should I be critical about that? Yes, but... no way! The video is wonderful and the CD is just as great. For me, it is a combination of my favourite musicians and composers, so what more could I ask for... five stars!
