  • Been a week for me now and I knew the first few days would give me headaches, but its past. I quit not only cigs, but coffee which I felt worked together with the cigs.

  • counting days without smoking is a HUGE FAIL man!!!

  • You can do it lets keep going.

  • i was 7 years old. i saw my father smoke and i asked him to try it.

    he gave me the cigarette, after one try, i didnt speak for about a week.

    i learned to never even start smoking. you should also be aware that the

    trained behavior to move your hand to your mouth to get the taste will

    continue, so you tend to eat more. just to satisfy the urge make that

    very well trained motion. so watch you eating pattern as-well.

  • One thing I want to mention is that a great part of relaxing is taking that "deep breath" in order to calm your mind and body. When you smoke after a stressful time, a good portion of that is deep breathing as well.. Next time you feel like taking a smoke.. Go outside as if you were going to.. And breathe deeply to relax yourself. Pretend you're smoking in your mind. Maybe that'll help. :D

  • I know you're getting this a lot but.. KEEP IT UP! I've been getting to know you throughout all of your videos and I KNOW you can do it. You have enough logic and self-discipline to make it! :D Keep doing your best!

  • That smell thing was something that surprised me too when I quit smoking. Now when I go to a place where there is a lot of smoking going on, afterwards I notice how revolting my clothes stink of cold smoke.

    Oh yeah, it is subtle, but food will taste better after a while of not smoking, you might also use less salt.

    There is a danger of gaining weight. So far everyone I know including myself gained weight after quitting.

  • Keep up the good work, I really like how you just, "sit down and think" like you do in your "Smoking sucks" videos. I like how you can sit down and look at the problem and ask, "why does I feel like this?", "how do I keep my self from having this feeling?". That's awesome.

  • 18 in 2 weeks and have smoked for about 4-5 years now, and have said many times that i am going to stop smoke.

    And this week i have only smoked one in the morning, and when i feel for a smoke i take a walk.

    Next week i will smoke one each other day and so on.

    Anyway keep up the good work with the channel and the stop smoking.

    It seems that the "fight with the demon" could be 24/7 if we let ourselves obsess on it..

    it seems that we can use discipline to "change the channel" in our mind...

  • Good going! I've smoked for almost 2 years now, usually 3-6 cigarettes a day. Tried quitting a few times but hasn't been succesful because I enjoy smoking so much and I keep telling myself "I can smoke because it if I quit in a few years it won't be that bad to smoke". These videos make the quitting decision even easier for me, so thanks and gambatte on your decision. :)

  • Hmm better sense of smell means tastier food! I think that will be another awesome benefit. Maybe you should start thinking of some small things you've been wanting to reward yourself for so much time not smoking. Maybe a book or a new gadget or something. Find something you want more than the cigarette.

  • It's also great to hear you're identifying yourself as a non-smoker now, and that you corrected yourself from saying "when you're stopping" to "when you've stopped." You definitely have the mind game licked!

  • You don't have to cope with stress all by yourself. There are amazing recordings available that can drain the overload. Check out Belleruth Naparstek and Kelly Howell. Your attitude is excellent, and you've obviously got some skills, but don't hesitate to go for some other tools to get a boost or a break! I admire your efforts and your willingness to share it!

  • My struggle was two weeks then the battle was nearly won. I still occasionally got cravings after that but it wasn't noticeable as much. even today twelve years after quitting I will get a couple of moments when I miss it but I know I don't need it.

  • When you wanna smoke, drink water :) water fixes all. I notice that smokers smell to nicotine even when they aren't smoking... the hair, the skin, even the wall of the house smell like somebody is smoking...

    Good luck and congratulations for taking such a difficult decision (because sometimes just quitting it's very hard ).

  • I was wondering if you were coughing up or hacking up anything out of your lungs? I heard that happens so im just curious lol

  • If you keep at it longer, there will come a time where you will put some food in your mouth and it will taste overwhelmingly delicious...perhaps a french fry, or some savory meat. Maybe two weeks to a month. It will be awesome.

  • I think 3 days is a good hurdle to get over but i found it needed about 2 weeks.

  • My grandmother was a cigar smoker and when she quit smoking, she would chew gum when she got a craving, normal gum, not the nicotine gum . Maybe that could help for other people?

  • One day you'll wake up, lay in bed, and just be subtly amazed at how easy it is to breathe. The reward is incredible!

  • I'm happy for you. I hope you make it. I've tried to quit several times. The second week always got me. Just about the time I think I got it beat I get wave after wave after wave of strong cravings and know the only way to make it stop is to light one up. I know it's psychological by that point and I need to keep trying and not to be hard on my self when I fail etc.... I know people who have quit for years and still crave every so often. Don't let your guard down.

  • I've got nothing but admitarion for you, dude. I've tried 3 times but each time was compromised by either a wedding or a funeral. One thing I find really helps is whenever you get the urge just start keeping busy. Once you get yourself involved with something you won't think about it. I've got to find the bullocks to do it for real this time. I'm pretty sure you're gonna do it, mate. ;D

  • Hey dude your videos rock about Japan that's how i found this channalI'm trying to quit also but its one hell of a challenge . Are you using any of those stop smoking gum products or just going cold turkey? I'm on only on day 4 and that gum is really looking good......REALLY REALLY GOOD
