My Choir Teacher had to make my class watch it for the whole period. The Box art looked boring, and I thought that I would have to sleep through it until the end of the period. I saw blast about a week ago at the grand in Macon, Georgia. They were much different than this video. The snare solo and battle is more fluid and clean now. It has more style and stage presence as well. They also have changed the line up. The second snare player is now lance kindl I believe. It is way better than this video. It is must see. You should all get tickets

@anewell41 But he's right. The bounce of a drum is a crutch that too many drummers use. Lots and lots of professional drummers say that you don't get "good" until you can two-stroke roll on a sweater/pillow. That is when your arms can roll by themselves, without the need for the drum head.

For a percussionist each time the stick comes in contact with the drum its just like a professional basketball player taking a shot, it matters A LOT of they make it or not because it defines the good ones from the great ones. I thought the full line parts of this video were awesome!

The whole battle and interpretive dance with drums strapped on was a bit over the top for me. Didn't like it. The expressions on their faces, like they are kicking ass, doesn't match the sound coming out. Rudiments are cool, and I appreciate their technical abilities, but the choreography is ballet like and the beat, the majority of the time, isn’t there. Fire your choreographer and get some funk. Just my opinion. :)

I have seen blast more than 10 times and I still love it!! Being a percussionist was the best decision I ever made!! I HATE when people say it doesnt take talent to beat on a drum. Let me tell ya, its something you have to practice everday. @mtthwrcks I agree completely. People don't understand that there are different techniches for every percussion instrument and mastering them is actually extremely difficult

im srry but im a drummer,, i play a drum kit.. i also can play drumline like you see here. im very talented, i can even play drumline with my drum kit.. you cant ever not learn too much.. on top of that, i can play guitar, bass, and trumpet.. im always into learning music cuz it facinates me. so whoever thinks that drummers play drums cuz they cant play anything else is a jealous lier. i want to see if you can play all 2000 different percusion instruments and keep a simple beat.
