how big is this crater?? its foooookin huuuuuggeeeee!! i'm a builder, and believe me, that is some serious material displacement. we all owe sooooo much to the lads from the commonwealth who served in and around this area. may God rest their hard worked souls.
I was at this stie in January, it was a humbling experience.....not to mention freezing cold which gave us more on an insight of what these young men endured.
It's been 92 years since the opening shots of the Battle of the Somme and it's amazing how peaceful that field looks. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like on that field when the battle started.
