I'm a huge fan of Trip-hop dark electronica music and Rage against the machine and your remix is a good start. loose a lot of the bass in the intro and first verse, it's too overpowering - Bring out the snare, maybe two with some brush sticks and build up the rhythm with that. When the guitar kicks in at one point it should have been a bit of an eargasm but ended up being a let down - work on the snare, add more rythm and experiment with some EQing to get a cleaner more even sound. x
Come to think of it, the best thing I like about your version is you constructed a new and complete song out of the original (still using the same melody). Whereas most other Rage remixes are just beats or jams at best.
Although I never commented on this, Ive been enjoying to it for about 1/2 a year now. This is better than many of the official remixes and the unofficial ones by professional djs. Maybe an extended version incorporating a mixing of the solo is the only constructive comment I've got. I only like DJ Quik's and DJ Enferno's remixes of Guerrilla Radio better. Big ups.
This version is great. It does depend the mood a person is in. I actually think it speaks a bit more to the lyrics than the original. But the original is great...obviously.
At first i was like "oh my testicles what has this person done" but then i read your comment sayin tat a remix shouldn't be like the origional...so in my opinion I Like it...For a remix...as a seperate song:):):)lol
Mabye it's because I've been listening to the original a lot, who knows?
Even though, I see that you tried to enhance the sombreness of this, already quite gloomy song, and I must admit that you did a good work on that one lad, but please do not try to change such a masterpiece again.
Thanks, these last three comments have been really good, like, who knew that people on youtube could offer constructive criticism. Haha, thanks guys, i know you dont all like it, but you dont have to like it, and at least youve all explained why; if only every video on youtube had comments like this.
For me the whole point of this song was the awesome guitar bits so I was at first dismayed when they were missing.
The removal of those made appreciate the verses more. Its an interesting idea - I appreciate you put a lot of work into this but I prefer the original. At least now I pay more attention to the verses.
Coming from a non-RATM fan's perspective, I q liked what u did. I can c why RATM fans wld hate it tho. It's completely dif fr the orig! Gd buildup in the beginning...and for some reason, I thot of fort minor abt halfway into the track, is that the trip hop influence coming in? Gets a tad monotonous abt 3mins into the track tho.
what would be the point of a remix if it sounded like it did before, or was in the same style. its meant to be a different style, thats the entire point! can you not even tell me why you dont like it, your feedback sucks!! i wont call you a twat, but you are annoying.
okay... see what you mean. my bad. let me say this then: the original works better. yes the point may be to use different sounds in the remix but this doesnt go well at all with the original music present IMO. is that better? like for example, I DETESTE the sounds used alongside the usual verses that u added in.
Interesting idea. Truth is, the original song is kind of empty when Zack is preaching. Maybe you should have focused on these parts only to prepare the listener for the final burst. Nevertheless, as a loyal RATM fan, I congratulate a well done job.
this is cool, only criticism i have is that it doesn't really go anywhere, apart from that its a cool mix, and im a huge rage fan. nice job, im gonna check out your other mixes!
i tried doing that, but im not good at editing it, i wanted to do somthing along the lines of the NIN version of 'shove it' by deftones. Im just not that good at editing yet, expect to see an updated version sometime in the future!

jeezus.. i thought this song was rock.. THOUGHT RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE WAS A HARD ROCK BAND!! but these noobs keep ruining everything.. this sucks its too boring.. offending.. yeah this is fucking offending for rage against the machine
The music wasn't made in movie maker. The video was, but thats just a picture. I remixed it using garageband, which sounds unproffesional, but i did it in a very proffesional manner so that it doesnt sound so fake like most garage band productions.

I think it's good ;)
It depends how your feeling I guess- this versions kinda mellow and more chilled- where the original is quite aggressive and angry.

Interesting take on this song. Some may think it's boring but you really have to settle down to appreciate it. It sounds like someone brooding.

I like this a lot. I wonder why I doesn't have 5 stars. seems rage fans are somwhat narrow minded when it comes to sound.

I think that the guitar gets too loud when singer's quiet. At 1:45, y'know. However, it's really great remix.

u didn't do more work than the makers of the song did, man.
the song was fine how it was.
rage against the machine's work should not be mixed with. they rule.
