The name of this beautiful city, my birthplace in 1941, was and always will be POLA, not Pula. For 2000 years it was known as POLA, additionally la Rena di Pola was graced with a 20 foot bronze statue of Augustus Ceasar. Where is the statue now, thanks Tito and all the Communists for sacking my birthplace. I now live Chicago, USA, but my heart will always remember la mia Pola.
