by the way that intersection is designed. it actually encourages drivers to not stop. It if met King at a ninety degree angle, drivers would they need to stop(more ish).

Just remove the stop sign and put a yeild sign there. Problem solved. Drivers can continue to do what they do at that intersection and stop for traffic and pedestrians when need be.

lol i live rite by there its serious just down the street where those cars are coming from there is a turn when ur crossing they dont signal u dont no if there gonna go strait or turn almost got hit enough times lol

I know what you mean. If your heading towards Rosedale, and you need to cross at the bridge, you don't know if they're going up the mountain or just going straight.

I think only 1 person actually stopped and that was because someone was walking in front of them. In theory all those people could receive a ticket for running a stop sign.

Great video Larry. Same rules, same rights! In LA we deal with the same situation. Cops ticketing cyclists, oftentimes for reasons not in the book, instead of ticketing the drivers who put the cyclists lives in danger.

I just love how the guy in the Cavalier pulls right out in front of an approching car. If I were they I would blare my horn and maybe cutt hem off for there troubles..I do it all the time where I live

From this angle it looks like the biggest threat to bikers is that bus stop sign blocking view of oncoming traffic. It would be easy to not see a bike coming there.

I don't get it. The drivers can see the oncoming traffic and don't have to stop in order to assess whether it is safe to proceed. This would be no more than a give way junction in the UK and these drivers would be doing no wrong, but clearly you have different rules in the US if you're posting this.

This is Canada, and it's a stop sign which means full stop. The reason I posted this is because there has been a blitz by the police of ticketing cyclists for not stopping at stop signs. This video is meant to point out that perhaps the police should sort out the troubles with cars (since they can actually kill someone) before they waste time on cyclists.

Yeah I cycle daily and I admit I have ran a few stop signs but since there was no one around I figured it was safe to do so. But I would be scared to ride in that area, specially with them people.

Giving tickets to cyclists for not stopping at signs may very well have saved some of their lives and that makes the whole process worthwhile.

As far as this video goes, YES the cars should be stopping too so take this video down to your local police department and play it for them....
