i was in the khmer rouge war. dont say the khmer king stupid and put ur self at that time as the king because in that time united states and the russia they are fighting to get sides including cambodia but the king of cambodia didnt't want to go to any sides he just wanted his country to be nutral to prevent a war, on the other vietanmese had a plan to take over cambodia in the 1950s. At the end Cambodia was the victim.
