It's funny looking back on it now. Originally Alex Kidd was the rival to Mario. Then the Sega Master System was put to rest and the Sega Genesis came out. All of a sudden Sonic becomes the new rival and mascot of Sega. I just wonder why Alex Kidd faded away and why he never stayed on as the rival mascot of Mario. I've never really been able to find a definitive answer to that question.

@delli620 Yes I have. I thought the Genesis game, Alex Kidd In Enchanted Castle, was a pretty decent game. I thought they could have built on that and made each sequel better, but sadly they just gave up on him which I find really weird. Honestly though, I'm just happy I grew up in the 80s and early 90s with the Sega consoles. Best parts of my childhood were playing games on my Sega Master and Genesis systems. : )

Sonic 2 was good, but the only thing it has over Sonic 3 is number of levels (which isn't necessarily true if you throw it onto Sonci & Knuckles, then it's pretty-much even). The level design, music, and overall gameplay is vastly improved in Sonic 3, which makes it the obvious choice for first. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a fact.

Streets Of Rage (Bare Knucke) whole series .I have to say 2nd and 3rd game were the best in the series and they should be on list but it's your list and I'm not mad at you :D .Also Adventures of Batman and Robin is so underrated ,that is one of the best games I've ever played in my life.Genesis has some more great beatemups (TMNT hyperstone heist - I love that game,Shinobi is also pure classic ,Comix zone and many many others )

I own an amazing collection of Sega games that I acquired in the 90s. Every time I go back to play them I get my ass handed to me by games I beat when I was 10. I think this tells alot about today's games. I can't recall having difficulty with any games since XBOX's release and games are getting easier. I shouldn't need pointless achievements or trophies to keep me invested in a game.
