I drove this today, but I hate it, because the backseat is very cramped, there isn't much trunk space behind the back seat, and the displays is pethetic, and average 19 MPG $35,000 this is rediculous, If I would spend $35,000 on a car, I would by a Toyota Hilander, or a tundra Crew Max pickup.

@twentydashone They did that for safety. In the event of a crash, the headrests will adjust themselves to keep the driver from getting injured. So, it's not disappointing. It's a very good feature and just another way of how safe Mercedes's vehicles are.
I don't know why you guys don't like the look of this car. Its finally a crossover that doesn't look like a prius. I drive a 2010 civic and although the looks are passable, the shape of the body is reminiscent of the prius. Round wedge shaped cars look ultra lame.
I'd rather buy an Infiniti EX37... 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds. You get a lot more bang for your money. Infiniti has better technology, reliability and a sportier drive. With that said, Infiniti's come from the same car company that makes the mighty GTR.

I think the front should have some chrome runners, it look like a Suzuki Grand Vitara, and not a MB. The interior is ok, but some of the materials and fit and finish look too be cheap. Don't get me wrong, the design is good, but the execution could have been more polished, the front is a disgrace, to the point that MB should recall the car and replace the front with a redo.
I like the GLK but if you want something that's the same price and has alot of room i would go with the XC-60 or and X3 but the GLK got the Mercedes Benz luxury so that's why people buy it.
i know i love Merc's but this i was in one of these and there just no good. they have no leg room, they could really only sit four, but the Volvo and X3 are diffrent with more leg room and they will seat five. But over BMW, and Volvo, i would deffinatly tak the Benz for it's engineering and quality anad cause it's german! :)
@tomriley123 Dude, the X3 only has 1 more inch and the volvo 2 more. Thats not much of a difference. Besides if you move the seat 2 inches forward you have more room in the back, its that simple. If you want interior room why not get a CRV or Rav 4? They both have 38 inches of rear legroom.
Say what you want about the design but here's the difference. Almost every compact SUV on the road these days looks the same. How many times have you mistaken one vehicle for another while out and about? That won't happen with this car....IT STICKS OUT and does so in a very retro, stylish way. I've driven one for a week and have received more comments about its appearance (positive) than anything else. If you buy a mercedes you don't want to be mistaken for a Kia....that's the diff!

Ugly, inside and out. Outside it looks like a 90's RAV4 and the inside just looks BAD. 1:35 look how awkwardly shaped the dash is.The door contours are poor and the heat vents are TINY!
It's about time that somebody came out with a masculine design. Most of it's competition look like suppositories. And while some of them are pretty nice.....can they turn 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and tow 3500 pounds while in a very quiet environment? Speaking as somebody who has tested the GLK on harsh roads and high speed highways, it IS a Luxury car. Not mentioned here is the adaptive suspension that comes standard. It comes nicely equipped for less than 34K quoted by dealer.

Why do you complain about the price....you live in US. Cars are free in your country compared to prices in europe. 34000$ is funny...its amazingly cheap. 34000$ is around 20000 euros....you cant get a VW Golf with 1.4 liter engine for 20000 euros in Europe. Basic GLK costs 38000 euros in my country, and fully equpped like the one in video costs 60000 euros, whichs is over 100000$. Its not fair.... you in US have the highest salaries, and cheapest car and fuel prices. And then you complain... :P

i live in Delaware and you way think were not a popular state or have a low market, but if you come down here you will think differently. They still run for the same price and Delaware is growing rapidly. Prices are still the same for this benz. I've driven one for a week and have received more comments about its appearance (positive) than anything else. If you buy a mercedes you don't want to be mistaken for a Kia....that's the diff!

I'm the CEO of a company that's been in business for 30 years.
I like the GLK. It's modern refreshing and priced very well. I haven't done as well has I have by wasting my money on unnecessary extravagance. Mercedes have gone down this road because they know it's the future. 20% of all their sales future ! So if you want them to keep building the GL you better like the GLK !

Ugly, inside and out. Outside it looks like a 90's RAV4 and the inside just looks BAD. 1:35 look how awkwardly shaped the dash is.The door contours are poor and the heat vents are TINY!

It's about time that somebody came out with a masculine design. Most of it's competition look like suppositories. And while some of them are pretty nice.....can they turn 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and tow 3500 pounds while in a very quiet environment? Speaking as somebody who has tested the GLK on harsh roads and high speed highways, it IS a Luxury car. Not mentioned here is the adaptive suspension that comes standard. It comes nicely equipped for less than 34K quoted by dealer.

I am American. I love the GLK. I believe it is gorgeous. Along with many other foerign cars. Why do people feel that they must bash on Americans because of how some act and you disagree with their government policy? I am not about to dislike someone because of where they reside. It is offensive. Please think about what you are saying and the implications of it. There are just as many well educated smart citizens in America and we wish not to be grouped with those that cast a bad image of us.

I've seen it in person and its ugly and cheap looking. A CRV looks higher quality inside and out. They tried to make it look like a G-wagen or something but they didnt pull it off. The only people who will buy the vehicle are clueless badge snobs.

Why do you complain about the price....you live in US. Cars are free in your country compared to prices in europe. 34000$ is funny...its amazingly cheap. 34000$ is around 20000 euros....you cant get a VW Golf with 1.4 liter engine for 20000 euros in Europe. Basic GLK costs 38000 euros in my country, and fully equpped like the one in video costs 60000 euros, whichs is over 100000$. Its not fair.... you in US have the highest salaries, and cheapest car and fuel prices. And then you complain... :P

They still run for the same price and Delaware is growing rapidly. Prices are still the same for this benz.
