  • i grew up on a farm using an old # 50 i sure loved that old thing. almost cry when i watch this video.

  • i just recently bought a 41' model b just like this one and a 53' ford julibee NAA for my farm. you can see them on my homepage

  • awesome that is just like the 1941 b i own

  • thats there's a sight to behold.

  • Every time I hear a "Johnny Put-Put" working, I HAVE to stop and listen. Reminds me of the days when there were tons of them around working the great farm lands. I always enjoyed operating the old two cylinder JD.

When John Deere went to the high speed engine, it was the end of a great era of small working tractors.

  • the only thing i dont like is the way you have to start it and the wheel spinning on the side of the tractor without any guard looks very dangerous all to easy to get your hand arm fingers trapped otherwise nice old machine

  • It does look that way but it isn't. The wheel is smooth so you could touch it and not much would happen. Sometimes, I used to almost stop the engine by putting my shoe on the flywheel at idle. No harm done. This was a safe system. Hand cranks could kick and break your thumb if you didn't hold them right. The fly wheel had none of those bad habits.

  • you did it the way you had to then

  • you knew then wha yu were doing

  • purs like a kitten

  • Delong47, you are right. They just don't make them that way any more. Thanks for you input and may God bless you and yours. Buddy Smith

  • what a beutie youve got

  • Love those old machines, sweet

  • Psyware, yes they are sweet, aren't they? Thanks for your input and may God bless and keep you! Buddy Smith

  • 2 stroke diesel?

  • No diesel. Its gas.

  • what a great video!

and what a nice running tractor, you dont see them alot over here in holland!

my uncle used to have a john deere B, but he brought her to the scrapheap =(

altough, he stil has a couple of 3020's and 4020's

  • Thank you! She is still a sweet running tractor.

  • My brother kept and refurbished my daddys 1946 John Deer B amd I so proud of him for doing this. It is a treasure.
