This is not nothing new these always going to be a crazy finish in the FINAL 20 LAPS I JUST HATE TO MR. IVAN AND BIG E IN IT I'LL LOOK 1998 DAYTONA 500 FRIDAY.
Yea that's why Dale Sr got back in the car so it would make him look like the victim, but in reality he smacked the wall on the straightaway with NO contact! Then went back down in-front of Jarrett and wreck himself! The man was good but no one is perfect!
I think the point here is that if Gordon would've wrecked his car the way Dale did in this race, he wouldn't have got back in the mangled car and still put more laps on with a totaled race car. I mean, they had to duct tape the car back together. Nobody besides Dale would've even tried to go out and run more laps with only 10 laps left or whatever it was.
@bman940213 if it wasnt for the chase jeff would have 7 2004, 2006, 2007, Thanks bud :) so in the old points format Jeff Gordon has more wins and the same amount of championships and if i dont recall, Jeff made it to 76 wins quicker ten ANY OTHER DRIVER so your welcome :)
@Meds9624 Jeff would only have 6 titles under the old points system. Jimmie would have beat Kenseth by 3 points in 06, don’t believe me look it up on jayski. As for wins Dale had much harder competition in the late 80’s and early 90’s than Jeff ever did when he won the majority of his races and titles.
@bman940213 are you stupid? they say it almost every race "the competition is way more tough nowadays then what they were back then" so many people have said it... and its so much harder to win a race with all the rules nowadays but think what you want dale isnt that good hes a sloppy racer
@Meds9624 Yeah your right today is harder to win races and titles, but there was less competition in the late 90's when Jeff was winning than when Dale was winning in the 80's. Dale was winning against drivers like Alllison, Elliott, Wallace and Waltrip, when they were in their prime. When Jeff was on his run in the mid 90's the best drivers he had to go up against were Martin, both Labontes and Jarrett who are good but not as good as the drivers i listed above.
Hey, Earnhadrt fans. I got an idea; how about y'all quit blaming Jeff Gordon every time something bad happens to the Earnhardts? I know people who blame Jeff Gordon for the fact that Dale Earnhardt's dead. Jeff Gordon was knocked out of the race before Dale Earnhardt died. Look, I like Dale Earnhardt, but statistically, Jeff Gordon's better. Get over it!
@The1994Gforce -- While you make a great point with the whole blame thing, Dale did win more championships. Although I'm not too sure Gordon wouldn't have six on his mantle if not for the stupid Chase.
Why didn't Jeff Gordon visit the injured fan in the hospital? Hell, he caused the damn wreck. For all we knew at the time of the wreck someone might of been dead but Gordon just celebrated in Victory Lane like nothing happened. When the race finished all I was waiting to hear was an update on any injuries. I didn't care about hearing from drivers.
@ciccone39 How did he cause the wreck? Earnhardt had plenty of room at the top. No, you should blame NASCAR for not having it where teams put tethers on the cars to keep the hood on.
Typical Earnhardt fans. Delusional as shit, and pissed that some "fag" from California/Indiana could beat their redneck hero.
It's no one fault's. Dale sr got out of line cuz look alike he got tight exit turn 2. Same thing happened to Jeff gordon and Tony stewart years later. Tony was following Jeff then Jeff got tight exit turn 2 and end up going close to wall and smacked it. Tony followed and got smacked off exit turn 2. Exit turn 2 famous for that. You see lot drivers get loose or got tight exit turn 2

Funny seeing all these Earnharft fans bitch about Gordon causing a wreck, considering the amount of intentional accidents he caused in NASCAR.
skankuser 1 year ago
That may be because NASCAR has become a lot more safe since then.
DubbleA7 1 year ago
Everyone was screaming when they saw Earnhardt flip...
Now if someone were to flip, they would cheer...
What NASCAR has become...
