What?! Regardless of whether the cars were "official" or not (which they weren't), the cops should check the identification of every single person who passes through the security points. In this case, the cops assumed the motorcade was official because the Chaser made it look real, but they were wearing obviously fake ID. Remember assumption makes an ASSofUandME.

While many people talk of this being an idiotic prank, I think this shows a failure of the APEC security (that we as taxpayers spent millions of dollars on) inasmuch as they didn't at least do a basic ID or Rego check to ensure that the people coming in were legit, which is something I would have expected them to be doing given the amount of money that was spent.
