  • Thank you so much for airing and sharing this. She is truly my inspiration for singing.

  • @zerty3 Midler and Stesisand are the only 2 singers of today that are in Judy's class. All those other divas are horse shit! Can you even imagine Britany making an attept at this song? ROTFL!!!!!

  • Dam, Judy's out takes are better than most singers of today's final performances!

  • Ha Judy drinking milk ? lol Where is the Booze they are in a night club after hours come on girl have a shot! lol

  • @ilovejudytoo

That's all she'd need (not). I hope you aren't that familiar with her story, cos if you are I'll forgive you. But if you are, shame on you! You should know either way that by then, she was having, ahem, *issues* with alcohol as well as pills.

  • If you watch this musical number, George Cukor did it all in one shot which is almost impossible to do with any performer but he knew Judy could sustain such a task and she passed with flying colors. The camera never stopped filming or cut to different angles when it was put into the film they just kept on rolling and Judy kept on going.. There is a reason why she was a legend before she turned 30. Hollywood hasn't had a talent that surpasses Judy Garland and I dont think they ever will.

  • Best singing voice, ever!

    Best face ever!

    I love Judy Garland!

  • I too spoke with Sid at the Judy Fest in Grand rapids MN. I chatted with him in the Sawmill Inn hotel bar and he was very open about Judy and had great stories. Unlike Lorna who wouldn't socialize with anyone. He r Husband is an oddball. Joey was quite nice to everyone. But of course Lorna had to sing while there. LOL

  • wot kind of music wud u call this, traditional book music? i dont hink it's big band? and i no it's obviousley a show tune

  • i believe this would be termed a "standard" or big band. other standards would be like eydie gorme, frank sinatra, buddy greco, perry como, etc.

  • Thanks for sharing this gem! Where do you guys get such awesome footage???:)

Anyway, to me, for some reason this version looks like a scene towards the end of "The Harvey Girls". That's not an insult. That's just what it reminds me of.

  • Again, Rick you are the BEST, these 3 versions are AMAZING !!!! cant make up my mind which one i like best..............:)

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Sid Luft a couple of times, both in LA and also in Minnesota at the Judy Fest. We sat in the hotel bar one night and talked and talked and he told me some incredible info on this movie and on Judy. Drop me a private note if you would like to hear more about this movie, one of the 10 BEST movies in Hollywood History.

  • Wonderful of you to post this. This is the version filmed by Winton Hoch. Neither Sid nor Jack Warner liked Winton Hochs work so he was fired and Sam Leavitt was hired for filming. Sam Leavitt filmed the movie in stunning perfection, a highpoint of CinemaScope work........

  • And thank you JimmyCFO for your interesting input as well. Makes this even more interesting and noteworthy. Grazie.

  • Notice James Mason at the start of this clip sitting on the front right of the screen?

  • (You Sat An Hour Too Long.....Honey!!!)

  • thank you!!!

maybe you have more outtakes from 'a star is born'??

  • Wow...I'd never seen that version before - thanks Rick!
