Excellent singing.it is in his genes.his late father ovs a delhite wasa great singer as also ost and oss..In my boyhood i used to listen to him[ovs] humming ragas while buying vegetable from vendor in karol bagh .may his soul rest in peace.
i agree with those of you who believe that this is no good. come on guys, there is nothing wrong is stating ones dislikes.. you can go after each one to see what they know or what they do not.. everyone is entitled to express whether they like a piece of music. you do not need a phd to like or dislike a piece of music. it is upto the performers to decide whether they want to continue generating what they did..
You are absolutely right. Everyone is as much entitled to hate O.S.Arun's singing as like it. However, it might help if negative reviewers elaborated a little as to why they don't like his singing, so that O.S.Arun himself can act on it, if he happens to read the review. That is the beauty of the web.

You call his singing art??? That tells me you have no clue about carnatic music!! Yeah dude!! There's absolutely no manodharmam in his singing if you understand what I mean!!I'll stay away from listening to O.S Arun. He's perfectly fit to sing like how he does!!! BTW, What I posted before was a statement and not a question!!

You've been named right by whoever and you have done a good job choosing your user id, "Kiruki"!! Go fly a kite a and please don't forget to see your psychiatrist...
I'm glad I don't have a clue about carnatic music so that I can appreciate music that is aethetically pleasing without closing my mind off to anything that doesn't involve complex intellectual exercise. At least I can appreciate the simple bauty of OS Arun;s singing. I don't know why all the 'experts' are shouting about OS Arun..I have heard him sing live and few singers can engage me like he does..
Why such anger? we're all here to enjoy some music. Let's just do that. There's enough anger and hate everywhere else in the world, let the arts remain pure.
you probably should disable the comments option from your videos so that people can just enjoy the music and not let our petty differences get in the way.
Maybe, it has nothing to do with Carnatic, so much as that, Indians don't generally have pets. I mean, percentage-wise, the number is very low. And, of course, normally these musicians don't live casual, celebrity lifestyles. They've got their work cut out for them, morning and night, practising. Maybe, that's why.
well. as correctly pointed out by "carnaticopia", most Indians don't have pets; only the super rich and the really poor do. The reason is the former for protection/status, the latter out of compassion. Also, pets, like the common domesticated dog, is considered dirty and most Hindus don't allow these sorts of animals inside the house; hard to do if you have a regular sized house. Brahmanas definitely do not have pets for cleanliness & auspiciousness.

Is this guy popular? Won't even be in my dreams!! Should I cry??

What a irrelevant question - if you enjoy listening go ahead, if not stay away - popularity is not an issue with art........

@aarthis where did you get this idea? I personally know famous musicians who have not just one but many dogs.
