The copper tube that connects to the lead of the MOT is taped to a 5 ft long pvc pipe. I'm on the other end of the pvc pipe, nowhere near that shit. The mot cores are grounded to mains ground and the mots are sitting on a 6" tall stack of ceramic tiles. I also have the power switch within immediate reach, along with a fire extinguisher. My wife was spotting me also, just in case.
i hope like f^@k yo had the rod you are using insulated and earthed outside the insulation so yo don't DIE if the wire on the rod falls off

nice arcs is this ballested, cause it looks a lot smaller than the arcs i get with two unballested MOTs in series

No ballast. I think these mots weren't of a very high power level. I have since gotten better arcs from other mots.
