This has nothing to do with this video although its amazing but could someone help me, I had a video bookmarked on my PC from related videos to this video the music was called A fifth season composed by graham preskett, the video has been deleted and I cant find the music anywhere on the internet.
My dad had this LP when I was a kid. I used to listen to it alot - though it was pretty cool at the time (the only way I could listen to classical when I was about 8!) Anyway it's great to find it again after all these years. :-)
Classic music is not for older people. Musician, performers, composers, etc., they started learning music before 10 years old. Great to listen young people talking about classic music. I have all the cds.
When this song first came out, my mom hated it when I listened to it because it "ruined the integrity of the music". But I loved it so much that she finally said fine, but she insisted that I lsiten to every piece from it in its original form and when it was on, she would quiz me and I had to name each piece as it played. To this day I still can even though I went probably 20 years without hearing it. Obviusly, music was a big deal at our house!
This really takes me back to my childhood. This series of albums (and this one in particular) really did get me hooked on classical music and opera. Thank you so much for posting this!
I wonder if anyone has thought of making a video for this, using clips from the many movies, old cartoons and TV shows these pieces have become associated with.
Soy metalero de corazón pero la música clásica siempre me ha gustado desde niño y estas versiones remasterizadas de la royal orchestra philharmonic son muy buenas.
'Hooked on Classics' introduced many people to classical music at the start of the 1980s, and we should owe a cultural debt to that! Some listeners started exploring its composers in greater depth (without snare drums and basses of course). Hence the popularity of The Proms and Classic FM in later years.
I'm 17 and I found this record in goodwill, I didn't know what it was I thought it was just classical music, so I got it, put it on, and then after the first bit that sounds like regular classical music, my expression went from calm to O_O WHAT THE CRAP!, it made my day, I didn't even know something like this existed
@Showoftim Same here I'm also 17 and found the record at an op shop, completely in love with it! It makes me want to find all the original music and DL it, unfortunately it's hard to find some of these pieces to DL
This is why I love the internet. I havent heard this stuff since I was about ten years old or younger. I'm nearly 28 and all I had to do was type Classical music remix into google. Internet, I love you

@bendachamp22 You're right. But this medley is a legitimate way to show some classical pieces to fans of other genres.
If you people liked some of the pieces, try the "classical version". You can find them very easily here on Youtube. And who knows, you might find that you like Classical more than you could have expected to.
....Earlier I would have said " My father would spend countless hours listening to this beautiful music and paint". Today I listen to this beautiful music...on an Ipod that my Wife bought me and I don't have to worry about making it skip accidently. I wonder what my Grandchildren will be listen to in their later years and on what? I used to think 45's and 60's music was cool. But this is ageless.
I recently got the complete CD album of this. It's truly marvellous and a different take on some well-known pieces and personal favourites. Very uplifting!
Can anyone help? I am trying find out what the piece of music is called that sounds like a Tally Ho song that I'm sure was on one of these albums, but I can't find it anywhere!! It's not the Light Cavalry Charge although that's not too far from it. But I'm sure that it's used when their is a hunt on (sorry I'm not into fox hunting, just like the music!! So negative resonses please!) This has been driving me mad for months!!
Brings back some memories. I got this album for Christmas in 1981 or '82, and I found it fun and Dad was glad that I liked it because he was really into classical music and I think he felt that it gave us some musical common-ground. Of course as an ELO fan I also appreciated the fact that Louis Clark had been involved in the production.
BUENISIMO........ME LO COMPRE CUANDO LO SACARON......1981.....Y NO ME PUEDO CREER QUE ESTE TAN FRESCO........SI YO SABIA QUE LO QUE COMPRABA ERA BUENO PARA MORIRSE........SIEMPRE SUPE LO QUE ME GUSTABA........JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA......Y AHORA POR ESTA Y POR OTRAS MUCHAS COSAS VIVO LOCO POR LA OPERAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...............LO MEJOR DE LO MEJOR.................
Such fun. I am big into Disco and this always got me going. Never tired of it;and it did give me an appreciation of classical music that I followed up on.
Dreadful, nothing clever about it at all [other than for it's marketing]. Still, what does that matter, if it sells that's all that counts. I'd rather listen to James May reading a Haynes manual on the Morris Marina....twice.
Years ago, my husband and I played this for our young children all the time. It lead them to appreciate classic music in it's original form. It's also terrific excercise music that we would use during breaks in long car rides. Bravo!
@Linda6119 My father was in Private Aviation all my life and I can remember flying as a kid with him and as soon as the door closed I can remember this blasting through an incredible stereo system until we were high in the clouds. Makes me think of flying everytime I hear classical music now!!! Thanks!
@BadMouton If you look up the CD on Amazon it should have a list of all the songs. In the actual CD jacket itself it lists each one of them in the order they are played.

Thanks!

Almost every "remix" I hear reminds me of this but nothing really compares.

I have this CD and have always loved it, since my aunt bought it for my mom in like 1983. :)

7:54, what's the name of the song?
BadMouton 1 year ago
@BadMouton If you look up the CD on Amazon it should have a list of all the songs. In the actual CD jacket itself it lists each one of them in the order they are played.

@BadMouton that is the second part of toccata and fugue in Dminor (Bach)
