  • name of the 1st song??

  • @beto9285

in memory of elizabeth reed. allman brothers band

  • good jams

  • Well.. I thought that was a pretty good demo myself.

I thought Andy was making some rather nice noises with it, but like all bits of kit out there, Not every person is satisfied with the results, depends what you want from it I suppose !! I'd buy one if it was below £100, but I wouldn't pay the £270 for a new one !! It wasn't THAT good !!

  • Accidentally hit two notes at once or strike any semblance of a chord, and this thing shits its pants. It is okay for toying around with or recording, but sucks live... 'cause you ARE going to hit a two-or-more-note combo somewhere, and it sounds like a kid just jumped on stage and started co-strumming your guitar. Absolutely sucks. I sent mine back.

  • The pedal is awesome need it for a gig to cover a zeppelin song ps:thanks for throwin' in some skynyrd!

  • What if say I wanted to play the chorus lick from The Boys are Back in Town? No correct me if I'm wrong but that's not a fixed interval harmony. It switches around a little bit so I suppose this pedal would be useless if I wanted to play that lick with the right harmonies?

  • @lunchboxattacks1 Wrong! If your rhythm guitarist is supplying a feed for you it will detect the changes.

  • thanks for playing some allmans

  • what would happen if you were to play out of key?

  • It would have been better if you showed the pedal instead so we can see what you were talking about.

But it was a very good demo nonetheless. :)

  • Liz Reed!!!

  • Ha ha, hey Andy..Where's the Hawaii shirt? Take that guitar out on the beach ...And the final jam, It sounded like something Les Paul would do..

    Very cool vid.

  • the dude is such a big guy he makes the les paul look like a ukelele

  • LMAO

  • snaps.. i'm gonna drop by and check you guys out. Didn't know that you guys were in ORegon..

  • Nothing new except the chord detector but do we realy need this when we all know are basic C scale?

What a shame they havent put formant pitch instead.

-On any basic multi-effector, its easy to change you presets containing different keys and harmnonies. Programm your own harmonies for each note of your created scale, save various harmony lines in preses that you change during the song, when a change of key occurs. Easy.

  • Mine. All mine.

  • gairius...if you are that advanced..why not play all the parts urself? like joe pass , or pat methemny would?

  • damn i want one!!!!! sweetest sound on heart!:D

  • you can also buy a digitech rp250. it has a normal pitch shifter (so you don't always have to tune your guitar differently for songs from different bands) and it has an intelligent pitch shifter, too, that always adds a fitting note to the one you play. pretty cool thing. the rp250 cost about 125 € and it's worth it's money

  • Nice chops and playing my friend. That goldtop sounds pretty damn good. What amp were you playing through?

  • How does it work with distortion though? Say ur doing a metal solo or some thing and u didn't have a second guitarit at practice.

  • Does this box create the loop or is that through another piece of gear?

  • galarius- there's a good review on this in the new Guitar World mag. I think you will find it informative.

  • I think you may have miss the point galarius...

  • The point? If the point is to make a product that fails miserably on a musical level, Digitech has done it!Unless of course I am mistaken about the lack of scale options, in which case I will be running to the store to buy it.But if this thing was put out with only natural key options, then it is nearly pointless.has anyone heard of harmonic minor? The blues scale?Half/Whole tone scale?.

  • call Andy at 503-760-6881, he'll explain.

    Thanks

  • @galarius Stop complaining you fucking baby. I bet you suck at guitar

  • There are so many scales besides the natural scale, I only play in natural half the time. And since this is a product that is going to appeal more to 'cutting edge' type players who are going to enjoy playing in a lot of excotic scale.Dissapointing and I won't be buying.

  • man i'm getting my ass over to portland! hope i'll get a good deal for hearing about this place on youtube! lol

  • hell i'd drive down to ptown just to watch you play :)

    sounds geat man.

  • Interesting harmonies that thing's got there. I especially likes the octave-up octave-down harmony. That thing is unearthly awesome.

  • nice toy

  • Andy awesome, I had to order one. I also have the JM4 looper on order when shipping.

Say - what was the 2nd song you played? I liked that background progression. I wished you faced the camera more so I could see what you played.

    Ron in MI

  • RE: 2nd song, never mind, I figured it out. I recorded the audio, loaded it into the JM4 and slowed it down and learned it. Pretty easy too. thanks for sharing... HEY why is the video gone?

  • Hi and thank you for your great demo videos. I see you have used a looper with the Harmony Man, could you tell me if you can set up a Harmony Man with a Jamman and then re-record your lead part +harmonies back into the Jamman?

Sorry if this sounds confusing I want to set up my song with a series of chords into the Jamman, drop the scale on the Harmony man to play a bass part, overlay that back onto the jamman, then do the lead part/harmonies live, and maybe overlay that on top.

  • ic in the background some RP products. Is the RP350 any good for a persong playing for 5 and a half years?

  • RP350 is great! If you are gigging out you might opt for the RP500. It is a lot more heavy duty and laid out better. It can be used as a pedal board with individual pedals.

  • did u ever get it work well with amp distortion, if not let me kno, i have what i think would work, it requires the amp to have an effects loop tho

  • No, unfortunately it just does not work good that way.

  • Liz Reed! yeah!

  • I just bought this pedal and so far it seems to work great, but your right you can only play single note and it works really good if you run it thru a looper like you did on the vid.

  • thanks, that what i needed to kno, for the distortion, since i use amp distortion and not a pedal i should just forget about the distortion loop, correct?

  • hello im wondering did you get it to work with amp distortion. i play through a bugera 333xl can i play distorted leads through this pedal using amp distortion. i haven't bought the pedal yet. i really don't want to have to buy a distortion pedal too.

  • perfect answer to my question, but about distortion, i use amp distortion so i should just bypass the distortion loop?

  • I can't get it to sound good with amp distortion. You almost have to use a distortion pedal to get it to sound good with distortion. I put in a call to Digitech to find out how to make it sound right with amp distortion. I will update as soon as I get word.

  • dude, probably it sucks with distorion, but i really want to hear it. please do a review with distortion, amp distortion or at least distortion pedal!

  • Seth - it's AWESOME with distortion, however the distortion box NEEDS TO BE used in the "out/return" set of IO's on the unit.

If you add a distortion box before or after the Hman it sounds bad. in the loop - it sounds GREAT - perfect Brian May tone is even possible.

  • Also, note that when using distortion a harmonizer can sound funny when coming before or after the pedal. This unit has a distortion loop in and out to insert your distortion pedal directly into the unit. When doing this it sounds great with distortion. Thanks!

    Andy

  • could this pedal recognize a series of single notes, i want this thing to harmonize solos, like if i played an e minor arpeggio could the pedal recognize that

  • Good Question! I just tried that out. It will only really work if playing all seven notes of the scale in succession. If you play an arpeggio it sometimes gets confused. Keep in mind it won't detect keys while the harmony is engaged. If you want to play an e min arpeggio, just play an e minor chord while either in auto or manual mode, once detected the indicator will turn green and you can turn on the harmony and solo. Thanks!

    Andy

  • Thanks for the great demo it sounds sweet! I've been watching for this pedal but I don't want use a looper - does the musIQ feature find the scale pretty quickly? It also says you can strum to set the key - does this work ok? The tracking sounds pretty good on this demo - is that what you've found in general?

    Thanks again!

  • It takes a couple seconds in manual(strum) mode. When depressing the switch in manual mode it mutes the output. When analyzing a chord progression (automatic mode) it depends on how many chords there are and how involved they are. Works best with basic voicings. Tracks great! As far as I can tell, it only harmonizes well with single notes. Thanks!

    Andy

  • Thanks! I've picked one up and it's really amazing - I also recommend it. One thing that blows me away is how there is so little latency compared to other shifters I've tried. I've used it quite a bit now with an octave down setting and 100% wet mix to sound like a bass - I could never do this before!

  • could this be used on vocals so u can change the pitch while singing to make strange vocal sounds (not really for singing) alot like cedric from at the drive in

  • For what you try to achieve I would recommend the Digitech Vocal 300, it has weird effects.

As far as Cedric..hmmm didn't see the movie.

  • cheers, he is a singer not an actor haha, he only does it live tho not on record

  • LOL ! ok. I now will take my metamucil, put my slippers on and go to bed after placing my teeth in a glass....

    Eric

  • well then if you don't mind would you tell me how you hook up your looper to the machine. I have the digitech jam man

  • harmony man first , then Jam man

  • I have the vocalist live 4, works great. This box is working on the same principal is it also a looper as well, like you spoke of in your demo?

  • No, it's not a looper as well. Andy uses another looper pedal next to it for the purpose of the video.

    Sorry about the confusion.
