Plus he was literally legally insane but that made for good football back then. They wouldn't allow someone like him into the flag football league they call the NFL today.
Yeah, he was winded and hurting by the third or fourth quarter, but that's because he abused and pushed himself to the point where he couldn't do anything but try. And when he couldn't bring the explosiveness to the table he still pushed himself. Something you'll never see any of the whiney Bitches in the NFL do today.
I know who made this video. My younger brother. I've seen it hundreds of times posted by people claiming that they did it. Some changed the song, others switched around the video. The NFL contacted him and had him remove it. It's nice to see that it is still alive and well on the internet! Lambert was the man!
i have seen it....iv'e actually watched him play....like his roomate eddie o'bradovich said 20 yds. left or right or back he had you...down field forget it...and by the third quarter he was outta gas....his knees started bothering him after only 4 yrs. of playing....by the time he was into his eighth he knew his time was up..like i said i watched him play...don't always go by what you see on video -film tapes..they don't always show the bad stuff...i know you're 13 yrs. old but keep an open mind
I suggest you look at Dick Butkus Highlite reel on you-tube...sideline to sideline he was clearly the best ever!! Look close at the power of Butkus hits and how the runners would always go 3 to 5 yards backwards....it was like they were hit by a mac-truck!! It's not even close Butkus is the King of the moutain and will go down as the meanest and best linebacker of all times!
I love old school hard hitting kick you in the teeth while you're down LB....and Jack was one of the best. Him....Mike, Dick, LT,.....they just loved to hit people.
Jack Lambert was the 1970's answer to the Great Butkus. He was like a Butkus that didn't have knee problems....or if he did...we never knew about them. He would pick a pass, KO a crossing route, Blitz the QB, make any tackle coming the middle: in short, he was everything you could ask out of a middle LineBacker. I thnk he wore 4 SuperBowl rings too. The Steelers were not my team....but they won me over with this guy. I was in HighSchool at the time. I tried to emulate his play style. I tried.
drumsandguitars...i read your comment...not better then lawrence taylor in 1986 his best year(20 sacks) his total tackles(solos & assists) was 124. jacks solos alone in 1978 was 125!! with assists he had 184.(steeler book team of the decade, page 92) you can't be serious about taylor. parcels let him stunt all the time cause he couldn't remember the defensive sets he was coked out of mind. his pursuit to the ball , not even in a class with jack.......it's 'not better THAN lawrence taylor'
"akuonye" i read your bio you're a computer engineer you must be pretty good with numbers?! and twenty years old. check out anybody playing sports today thats on the juice, they all look a little 'chunky' . you look at any films of jack in or out of uniform from 1976 to middle eighties. 6' 4" 224lbs was his highest playing weight.........roids???!!!!!!
I want you to know that since finding this vid over a year ago, I have bought 2 Chevelle CD's on Ebay, & I love them as much as I love the Steelers! I've also done a study of Jack Lambert, & watched every vid I could find. Thanks for motivating me to get smarter about a team I've loved for my whole life.
while it's true ray lewis and lambert are of two different eras of football, lewis is always making sure he knows where the broadcast cameras are, lambert couldn't give a damn what was going on outside the field of play. always check for total tackles for the year to evaluate a players involvement and passion for the game. nfl references.
omg! this video makes me want to slam someone 5 feet into concrete! lol ! Jack lambert weighed 230 ibls and was 6'4, and was very aggressive! 1976 steelers rocked but now we r just ordinary steelers. I liked us better when we had all the players that would do anything to slam someone into the ground! Still, GO STEELERS!!!!
Lambert was a legend but Ray Lewis is not soft comparing the two is like comparing 2 entirely different people 2 people of different style of playing....
Lambert was beast, I love the guy. Too bad he is so much of a recluse right now.
