  • As far as I can tell this game is kind of like Silent Hill: Twin Peaks. Would that be accurate?

  • @AndyTheMiserableRoo Somewhat. The majority of the game is an open world adventure game with zero combat and a lot of story. There are chuggy, awkward combat bits thrown in that play like Resident Evil 4, which are the only parts that are similar to Silent Hill (they take place in a strange otherworld type setting). The game starts off with one of these which sucks because it'll give anyone a bad impression of the game. Everything else is straight up Twin Peaks though.

  • God, I love this game! Beethoven WISHES he wrote this song.

  • @megaguy08 ...What? What does that even mean? Beethoven wishes he wrote this song? Beethoven didn't even compose folk music. Make less sense, please. That's not sarcasm. I really want to see how low you can set that bar.

  • Unfortunately, due to the closing of Megaupload, the soundtrack rip that was in the video description is no longer available.

  • @Bloodcider and now?

I wanted to download it,...in a few minutes

  • @SegundaEtappa gramar fail

  • song is so beautiful to a funeral or something sad

  • honestly in my top 10 favourite video games if not top 5. the story was amazing. the little details added were so cool and fun. the voice acting was quirky and really endearing. I had no issues with the combat system, but then again I suffered through rule of rose, so yeah...

York and Zach two amazing video game characters.

the ending was a big mind screw though and I'm still trying to figure out exactly what went on. I don't want to spoil on here though lol.

beautiful song best in the game.

  • Not sure I agree with most of the positive reviews here. I played it after watching Spoony's play through (bloody funny vid, watch it) and it made me interested in the game. I must say it felt really half-baked and tried too hard to be like Twin Peaks. Got bored of it rather quickly. Soundtrack was fine though, this track sounds a lot like The Moody Blues...

  • A beautiful melody. Don't you think so, Zach?

  • @binarynightmare i enjoy this game so far. god the hospital was a bit un nurving though

  • @doom0666

The hospital was weird, but the timber mill (I think tha's what it was, I haven't played it in a while) was scarier. That whole game was so wonderfully weird, and the ending was...words do not describe just how far out that was.

  • @binarynightmare heh. its still a great game. its bad how IGN said it was but i see no problems with it. unless its the achivments then i can see a problem. feels like an arcade game. 12 achivements

  • @doom0666

I loved every damn second of this game. I haven't read IGN's review, and I don't care - I love this thing so much.

  • @binarynightmare im enjoying the game. the shadow monsters are a bit un nurving but they are so simple XD

  • @doom0666

They're weird. I've heard that if you let them get near you, they stick their arms down your throat. And the whole 'I don't want to die' thing creeps the hell out of me.

  • @binarynightmare i got grabbed two times but i got killed even though i did the time thing going lrlrlrlrlr wti L thumbstick

  • @doom0666

I didn't even let them get near me. They freaked me out too much, so just kept shootong. Apparently, one of the side quests gives you an infinite ammo sub-machinegun. Worth checking out, especially for the end.

  • @binarynightmare i actually jumped for the first time. the red rain coat killer jumping from the elevator. damn that was unsuspected

  • @doom0666

He gets worse, too. Man, I just remember destroying the left analogue stick trying to run away from him.

  • @binarynightmare i made my hand bleed from the insides due the chase. im on episode 2 now still a great game

  • @doom0666

Haha! I know that feeling! It's gets much better, and much weirder!

  • @binarynightmare im used to crazy shit like that. if there is a game that will make you have nightmares that would be Eternal Darkness for the GC

  • @doom0666

Man, I have always wanted to play that game! I regret ever giving away my Gamecube. I'd get a second hand Wii and play it, though.

  • @binarynightmare you can get the game at your local Gamestop store or online :)

  • @doom0666

No way? Gamestop? No Gamestop in Ireland sells Gamecube games. Online would be the only place! I saw it once in a second hand market priced pretty cheap. I don't know why I didn't buy it!

  • @binarynightmare damn that sucks. well yeah online helps a whole lot XD. im curious is the song played in acoustic guitar or bass? because i would actually like to try the song on my guitar

  • @doom0666

This song? God, I couldn't tell you! I'm not a musician. I'm guessing acoustic?

  • The best videoludic experience that i eved do!

  • 0 IGNorants pressed the... - yeah, no dislikes xD

  • I loved chasing Anna Graham through the streets,

When this song is playing, it's really neat

    So says Mr. Stewart.

  • Wonderful

  • Superb.

  • so say Mr. Stewart

  • I do have to say. in my opinion, this has to be the best game ever made :)

  • Just raping the repeat button....again and again and again...wow awfully awesome song to an awfully awesome game. :)

  • IGN CAN GO FUCK OFF!!This game is amazing <3

  • @Alucard746x its a great game. Don't you agree Zack?

  • Was reading the TV Tropes page on Deadly Premonition. It hyperlinks to this video at the beginning of the first paragraph. That's so awesome. =D

  • this is my favorite game of all time i love everything about it dont you agree zach?

  • Press A to listen with interest

  • eppic <3

  • damm why I buy a ps3 :D

but the song is nice, isn´t it Zach?

  • Comment removed

  • The game is terrible, the graphics are horrible, the gameplay is fucking annoying but... I CANT STOP PLAYING IT!!! Its amazing! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! XD The story is brilliant and york is freaking awesome! he is like me in alot of ways. also the humour is brilliant. I love this game! :D

  • You can't spell ignorant without IGN.

  • @Slugg44 That's very clever...

  • I would just love to see someone play this on a 12 string guitar for real. IM LOOKING AT YOU YOUTUBE PEOPLE! Alas, my guitar chops are terribad...

  • one of the best games ever, a masterpiece

  • I love the ending of this song!

  • eines der besten spiele überhaupt muss man zumindest kennen ^^

one of the most interesting games ever!!!

  • cult classic games are truely a mystery aint that right zack

  • I wouldn't be surprised if they took some of the songs available in Jamendo or other free music portals.

  • This game is great, but could've been better.I like the story, the fact that you actually have to drive around and ask people questions about the case, and the acting so chessy like a B-movie. But theres not that many enemies to fight, the driving is bad and the combat is even worse. The shooting doesn't seem bad, but when you try to fight the bosses it's become very frustrated cause how bad the aiming is. Overall I did enjoy the game and hope there be a sequel to this little gem.

  • This game is truly amazing. I dont know when i last played a game that feelt as fresh and inspiring like this one. It really has its own feeling and caracter. To bad it will be one of those game that have a small kult fanbase because of the bad marketing. After having to play through yet another stupid braindead Gears of War clone this is truly refreshing.

  • @lapamjuka I fully agree with your first three sentences. But I have to disagree with the rest. I don't think that marketing is to blame. The game simply can't compare with today's biggest blockbuster titles when it comes to the superficial values. A game that has such "shortcomings" will always be stuck with a smaller cult following. Embrace that fact and enjoy Deadly Premonition. And every now and then, convince somebody to try it with an open mind and join the cult. :)

  • this song really looks like "Elm (Cowboy Bebop OST)". Anyway the song is really beautiful except the part between 1:37 and 2:25

  • @calahan59 Thats the best part in the song in my opinion :)

  • one of the best games i've ever played

  • In defence of the IGN "reviewer", no doubt having the opportunity to finally be liberated from the shackles of big developers and their financial muscle to buy influence for "their" games, it was an opportunity to finally - FINALLY - slag off a game comprehensibly without fear of a publisher getting all intimidating on their arse! Must add what a brilliant game Deadly Premonition tunred out to be (and it wasn't crap-but-good in the end, it was good because it was good in my opinion).

  • @tascott59 I love, tascott59, how "your" opinions on Deadly Premonition have been handed to others. Way to forfeit your individualism. Bravo.

  • @tascott59 you do realize that this game was released in Japan, right? In fact, the japanese got a PS3 version, as well. It was also released in Europe.

  • As a matter of fact the IGN reviewer was DAMN WRONG and the most surprising thing about it is that an impressive amount of far weaker game come out each month and none of them is given such nonsensical reviews.

Spoony made me laugh and wonder how the game actually was (it's thanks to him that I bought it). I don't think you watched a complete walkthrough and if you did, how can you ignore that this game is obviously and constantly surprising, entertaining, damn well written and original.

  • Alot of people are saying bad things about this game, but what exactly would make it better? You people are way too used to modern games. People would have loved this game back in the 90's. No one says such bad things about Resident Evil 1, and in parts that game was pretty silly...you know exactly what I mean. Deadly Premonition is so harmless, how can people be like that?

  • I used to respect IGN. But upon reding their seriously flawed judgement of this game, I lost respect for them. They got too hung upon the graphics in my opinion. HELLO. It's not always about graphics. They lacked the intellect required to appreciate such a twisted and complicated storyline and the final teist was probably too much for them to understand.

  • I was skeptical about this game, but it was a budget game. Sure it's gameplay is bad but it's not like its completely unplayable. You don't really notice how shitty it is after a while anyway.

Its all just so bizarre and funny that it should be played, like psychonauts.

  • COMPLETE game soundtrack has finally been ripped. Check the description for download link.

  • @Bloodcider Thanks for the download link man! Couldn't find a place to download that deputy willie one anywhere. Much appreciated :)

  • @MaverickHero6

That song's actually available on the game's site to download along with a few other songs, but I guess that's kind of redundant now.

  • @Bloodcider ...oh xD I couldn't find it when I last looked. thanks again

  • @tascott59 Uhhh...it was released in Japan first, then in North America, and a European release is happening on the 29th of this month. But hey, why not make up "facts" to support your opinion, right? Anyhow...great song, thanks for uploading! Best 20 bucks I ever spent.

  • @tascott59 Your a dumbass, to every aspect I can even place $100 you never even heard of the meaning of a GOOD game, probably due to the fact your into faggoty stuff like madden 2000-wtf year.

  • @Garasu145

Don't even bother. This is a game about plot and exploration. He can't appreciate things like that. He probably only likes the run of the mill Gears of War and Call of Duty clones that come out every month, so there's no point arguing.

Also, he's a huge faggot and I blocked him.

  • @tascott59

    You're retarded. Goodbye.

  • @tascott59

Spoony is an idiot, and went into the game with the same mentality as the IGN reviewer. This is not a high profile, big budget game so I will make fun of it because it is terrible look how hilarious I am honk honk.

Like honestly? It's an entertaining little $20 game, made by a bunch of dudes actually passionate about the craft, storytelling and entertainment, not just some marketable hype machine that will make everyone lots of money. Deal with it.

  • ...Does this song make anyone else think of "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal? Or am I just crazy?

  • I absolutely love this game. Granted there are some parts that I just don't get but I love the storyline. It's beautiful.

  • You can't spell "ignorant" without IGN.

  • This song is still in my damn head.

  • what do you think zach

  • as soon as i heard this i loved it.

Sat at the main screen for 20 minutes listening to it.

  • @Bloodcider well that is true what u said about not being a survival horror game. i hope they make a second one. really interesting game.

  • Game of the year and probably all time, for me. The part in this game where you actually get to hear the male "vocals" is perfectly timed. "Woah, there's more?!"

  • when i first picked this game up i hated it so i gave it back to gamestop. but after couple of weeks i decided to try the game again see if i can get any further and so far i am liking it alot. this game is different then every other horror game which is what i like about. pretty decent game for $20.00 its not like u spent $60 dollars on a game that u think it crap. give it a try or rent it first before u buy it. just wish there would be more survival horror games like this with free roaming.

  • @alkohol4all

It's not really survival horror though. This is a mystery/adventure game. Hell, the director himself admitted they crammed in the action segments late in development to make it more video-gamey.

  • @Bloodcider Ah, that explains it. I only "played" this via the Endurance Run, but the action segments felt very tacked on and they were never satisfactorily explained anyway. They're probably 85% of the reason why the game was panned. I think it might have worked better as a (PC) adventure game with the combat stripped out or replaced with something else.

  • @todeckzz Funny thing about that is that it was tacked on. Exec meddling led to the combat sequences it wasn't in the alpha testing at all.

  • This is one of my favourite tracks in the soundtrack. Don't you agree, Zack?

  • Haha, it warms my heart to see that there's an underground cult that loves this game just as much as i do, and people talking to Zach on half of the comments is downright hilarious. Don't you think so, Zach?

  • Giantbomb did a great endurance run of this game.

  • I don't read IGN reviews anymore. I judge on my own wether the game I got is good or bad :). But IGN's biased reviewers can suck it for all I care. I'm getting this game :D. Also, people shouldn't believe what IGN say in their so-called "reviews" because their reviews are just opinion based.

  • IGN doesn't know crap. Two cutscenes from this game makes me want to play it. I don't care if the gameplay is a little lacking, the plotline and writing look over-the-top-entertaining. I think I'll definitely check it out once I get my 360 repaired. That sound okay, Zach?

  • Just finished it. Easily one the most rewarding gaming experiences I've ever had.

  • the beginning of the song kinda remind me of Ennio Morricone's music

  • Thanks for the STARKLY contrasting reviews from DToid and IGN. To see this much of a disparity between reviewers means I have to play it now.

  • @NinjaMoogle218

The IGN reviewer was an asshole who went into it with the mindset that, this isn't a 15-million dollar blockbuster game, so it's shit. Then he just said the graphics were bad, cracked a few bad jokes, and made some shit up. He didn't really play the game so much as he looked for excuses to hate it.

Really, it's a great game. I love it. You just have to have patience and pay some attention.

  • @Bloodcider I adore this game. It's one of the best I've played in the last five years. The characters, the plot, the pacing, the music, and the very surreal Twin Peaks-esque sold me in just the first hour.

  • @Bloodcider it's probably because the game developers of Deadly Premonition didn't pay ign to give it a good review like pretty much every other game developer does...

  • @Bloodcider

IGN is the same site that gave --God Hand-- a 3/10.

Their credibility as a competent game reviewing site is PRETTY DAMN LOW in my eyes.

  • @NinjaMoogle218

IGN usually blows. They tend to rate games mostly (if not entirely) on a technical level. In that sense, they're on the money with this. It's a lousy "game." As entertament though, it's incredible. It's not everyones thing, but only because most people want everything to be shiny and fake. This game has charm, originality and heart. Oh, and an awesome soundtrack.

  • an experience like none other. even with all the gameplay issues and quirks, this is a game that i will never forget.

    isn't that right, zach?

  • @HerfaDerf

Or you could just download the file in the description.

  • @Bloodcider yeah that too...

  • Not that great of a game, but I love the music.

  • Does anybody know if the Comic Relief song is uploaded anywhere? That's pratically my favorite song in the game. :P

  • @LOLWUT877 It should be in the file linked in the description.

  • woooo este juego es super ya lo acabe 2 veces y es genial y algo triste jaja pobre zach espero aiga mas adios

  • please respondanme, in Chapter 2 I have just discovered the second murder, not yet killed a man with an ax, which always follows you, how that kind of kills the ax york? "Who is she? repondanme please, did you kill and who is?

    please subscribe me respondanme

  • @axos778

English, motherfucker! Do you speak it!?

  • @Bloodcider Say what again- SAY WHAT AGAIN!! I DARE YA, I DOUBLE DARE YA, MOTHER FUCKER!

  • These puppies are makin' me go to another town in the boondocks...

  • One of the best games ever, please people boycott IGN.

  • @AndroM2 Don't worry I've been paying no attention to IGN's reviews ever since they gave Lost Planet 2 a 6/10...

  • Deadly Premonition had one of the most terrifyingly affecting and beautiful endings I've experienced yet in a game. Very strange and hilarious game overall.

And this song just fits the game so well...

  • @Slangwell More games need folk-fused-with-jazz soundtracks, I think.

  • Oh yeah, forgot to mention. I love this song. Probably my favourite one in the game, it's so chill and pretty. Thanks so much for uploading it Bloodcider!! I'll take your advice and wait to download the soundtrack till after I beat the game. =)

  • I love this game. I haven't beaten it yet, but it's awesome! The storyline is really interesting, and I love the Twin Peak's homage. The music is great, the characters are awesome, the free roam options around town are cool, seriously best game I've played in a while.

If you haven't played it yet, BUY IT! It's only $20, you easily get 20+ hours of gameplay, and from what I hear the replay value makes it even more worth it.

  • 1:46 onward = fucking beautiful

  • This game is awesome! Sure, the gameplay and the graphics are kind of bad but the story and the characters definitely redeem this game.

  • Amazing, great! nice shot!

  • yes!!!

God i wish this game were out in the UK.

  • Heads up, don't look in the related videos section as there's videos up with massive fucking spoilers.

Normally I wouldn't care, but this game actually has a great story that everyone should enjoy without knowing what's going to happen.

  • @Bloodcider Too bad the combat is god fucking awful.

But, if you're willing to look past it, yeah the stories fine.

  • the guitar in this sounds fuckin nice!! :D

is this song from the actualy game or is it a cover?

  • @Emblemz This is the actual theme song ripped from the game.

  • @Bloodcider sounds damn nice :)

  • hmmm still waiting for this to be released in the UK :D but I get the feeling its never gonna happen >_>

  • @theocan If you want a PAL version you'll have to fight for it! Post in Rising Star Games boards, in the Gaming board. The post is called "What games do you want to see release in Europe?"

  • @theocan That's the url: risingstargames . com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=62&start=270 (you must delete the extra spaces)

  • Anyone able to guitar tab this song?

  • This game was AMAZING.

  • Thanks for linking us the soundtrack! I've feared/waited for the day I would find it :)

  • Loved this game. Hope more people play it

  • Kind of odd to hear this wonderful song with such gory background isn't it?

  • @usanto There weren't many screenshots available of the game.

  • No that's not what I meant, I mean it's kind of odd for such a horror themed screneshots to be accompanied with such a beautiful song, same with the whistling theme.

  • @usanto I wanted all screens of York smoking or getting excited about biscuits, but there just weren't any.

  • Play it and you will know that everything in this game is odd.

  • It's not that odd. Look at Katamari Damacy or Moonlight syndrome, those are even odder. Well, the first one was more happy than odd.

  • the game was actually fairly good but the combat just killed EVERYTHING about it. I dread every time I gotta go through the other world...

  • @tmtuker Infinity Magnum clears that right up.

  • I think this is the best game ever made

  • Zach, I say we have a fair shot at solving this mystery.

  • thank you for this!

  • Very true...It sucks that people ignore games just based on poor reviews. The story to this was really great and in depth.

  • IGN screwed up big time on this review.

  • thanks! It's a shame that many people won't play this amazing title.

  • Awesome video game, just finished it. Amazing soundtrack, thx for the rips.
