  • Thank you so much!! this helped me alot!

  • omg he's nose

  • Ugh, Im Nervous! I have an audition In 4 Hours or So. Ugh, Wish Me Luck!! MAC I NEED YU!!!<3

  • She has a hicky :D

  • I think the fashion industry needs to embrace uniqueness; not every girl is tall and pencil thin. If you are short like me; 5'2 you need to show them that you are just as good or even better than a tall model, to stand out. Ya; I'm short but look what I can do.

  • @LoveSenseDimension It's great we all have uniqueness, yet modeling has requirements just like any other job. This job happens to require certain body types. Other jobs will require degrees and look at professional athletes. They don't discriminate, but a certain body type is just better for the job. The fashion industry isn't out to ruin confidence, there out to sell their product. And it just so happens they like the way tall and sometimes thin happen to sell it. :D

  • this video literally just improved my non-existent walk in about 10 minutes! wish i had seen this before i had to walked for Major yesterday!!

  • aww that man is so sweet!

  • Does a normal woman need the pressure from a very powerful industry to look like that poor anorexic girl? Because there is something wrong with they're doing to us here. Wake up!

  • Anyone knows the name of the model in the polka dot shirt and shorts?

  • oh i got the attitude alright!

  • @beautywithjordyn Sorry it took me so long to reply to this comment. 5'7 is not too short (if you have the right body type/look) for commercial modeling. While they prefer taller girls, 5'7 is a common height in that particular field.

If you are interested in strictly runway, however, it is too short. How old are you? There is a chance you might grow - get into the game early - youth is your greatest ally.

  • 2:16 her eyes are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just wanna be as tall as them....how can you get taller? for real.

  • 0:45 Good,.

  • i work in the industry so I'm used to seeing a wide variety of "skinny," but these girls are a little too thin - it doens't look natural. Good walk though on the girl they were using to demonstrate.

  • @VandyAM are you crazy you must be in the wrong industry

  • @VandyAM how do you get tall enough to be a model? 5 foot 7 is just too short, theres no way to grow 2-3 inches is there now?

  • Girl 2 looks like she's about to cry when he's doing the facial expression tutorial :X

  • Ahh. im 13 , 5'5 andd 100 poundss ? will i grow ?

  • i don't think its good to promote a vacant look

  • Comment removed

  • @gradusm only if the vacant look is one that works for you and takes you to that next level

  • @fairybloom9428

    your welcome...

    :)

  • if you're 5'8 and want to work on the runway then good luck. some can hide it and say they're 5'9, but when all the girls r in lineup with the same heels on, there's a difference showing. that's why they're always harping on 5'8 girls on the top model shows especially on the australian one

  • @fairybloom9428

no you can b any height but they prefer being tall!

im the same height and everywhere i go people say to my parents "you need to put her in modeling school " and everyone always says im tall lolzz dont worry its ok your not short!

  • fairybloom9428, many places say that you need to be 5'9". However, if you look around, you can find MANY places that say you only have to be 5'7".

  • @waynesworldluvr Like where? Which agencies?

  • @ninka4ever It's just one of those things that you have to look around for. I would look at Ford Modeling

  • I think 5'8" and 15, they'll probably take you. Runway stuff you gotta be more in the 5'9" - 6' whatever" range, but for photography you're prolly good.

  • @Hyzennthlay it depends on the agency and what heels you are wearing when you go. I'm 5'7 3/4" and I've been in countless fashion shows

  • 1.56 holy skinny

  • we have to work on our legs, he's to work on his ridiculous nose :D

  • If someone wants to be a model for like pictures and stuff but not runway , does she have to be super tall too ?

  • i doubt it.

  • @blahblahboink Nope. Height is mainly important in fashion photography and runway. Other than that, height is only a preference.

  • no, not if you have a well proportioned body =)

  • im 13 5'6 yes a little sort i know but i am still growing. my cheekbones are a little flat, and i have wrinkles under my eyes. the wrinkles are inherited from my dad so yeah... what should i do to become a model? surgery is something i really want for my wrinkles should i?

  • no model shouldn't do surgery they want u to be clean n clear as posible

  • im 14 years old. 115 pounds and im 5'71/2 and i want to be a model, advice?

  • i would learn what field i want to be in whether it's high fashion or commercial etc...then practice my walk and how to pose ..find a good photographer and take some shots ..go to every casting call in ur hometown and don't give it no matter wat

  • ok I've always been skinny, but I'm healthy aswell, but looking at the first two girls at the beginning, either they are 11, maaaybe 12 years old, or they have ANOREXIA!!! just one option there to choose from!!!

  • I really want to become a model but I'm only 5'5. I'm 15 so hopefully I grow some more.

  • hi, i think you and i have sort of the same growth spur, im 18 now, and when i was 15 i was 5'5...Now Im 5'6. i didnt grow way that much. no one really does after 15 :( but good luck, im trying to become a model too...just have to loose some weight

  • just a bunch of bones walking...gosh, they really need to gain some weigh!

  • wow they look like professionals! this teacher is really great!! i want to be a model when i grow up :) im 13 and my height is 5'4 i hope im good! :)

  • skinny...

  • the girl with the straight hair and wearing the black dress...anyone know her name? i think i know her but im not sure.

  • The girl in that bright blue dress is gorgeous. Those freckly things on her face... Wow, that's just killer.

  • @letLOVEout

    yea she pretty lolzz!!

    wow!

  • I don't think you should have to be 6 feet tall to model thats what held me back for years

  • yeah, it's a disadvantage to be short in this business for some reason.

  • now the minimum is 5'9 for catwalk.

  • REALLY!! darn.

  • I want to come to new york so bad

    I have the height i'm 6 '0

but i don't live in USA

I want to be a model

  • you dont have to be in the USA! there are so many great european and asian and latin designers you could work for!

  • Polkadot has a great expression. It looks really damn nice.

  • where is part 4 :D

  • there is no part 4

  • how much do u weigh?

    myself im 5 '6' 112 pds

32 24 34 but im 18 so i dnt think im growing anymore. ive found an agency already thats ready to sign me and im movin to ny soon for college. thanx for the encouragement mama

  • are u still alive?

  • =/ y do u ask. yes n healthy

  • congrats..112ib, you sound super healty...

    im 5'6-5'7...... 120ib....54Kg.

do you know how can i lose some weight.

id love to become a model..but thats not gonna happen..O(∩_∩)O~

  • im like 5"5 and im 14, is tht too short to be a model? probably yea XD

  • well usually its to short. but it never hurts to try! i mean if you want something dont give up cuz people say your body isnt "perfect" for it!

  • yeaa, thxxx ^-^

  • well, in time you will probably gain a few inches, and hopefully get to about 5"8.

if not, i hear they do stuff for petite models, which you can try out =)

  • ohhh, rly? like wat?

  • im not sure about like agencies or anything.

i just heard it on this video of youtube from expertvillage :)

  • Ohhh....

  • also gigi! where do u stay? u should research some legit agencies in your area. if u dont know of any i can try to help =]

  • AWH (: thx soo much ^-^

    i live in Hk

  • "petite models" are 5'6-5'7, not what a regular person thinks "petite" would be.

5'8 isn't enough for modeling, and 3 inches is too much of a gamble.

    Gigi, better concentrate on school.

  • acutally kate moss is about 5ft 6.5inches, and she is one of the most famous supermodels ever.

and eva who won antm 3 is 5ft 6in.

so i think 5ft 8in will be enough for modelling

  • 1. eva who won ANTM is not getting modeling work, she is getting reality TV work.

    2. there are people who won $20 mln playing lottery, but is it a good idea to dedicate $100 weekly to playing lottery?

    Catch my drift?

Also Kate Moss has amazing bone structure. she was not just some average short girl that happened over night

  • Hi Gigi, I am a model and I am 5'10" without heels on. I know that kate moss is 5'5" and obviously she is pretty famous. but if you can walk in really tall heels then that is really beneficial. For alot of picture poses you don't have to be as tall but try it out. It is alot of fun!

  • well since your only 14 yeas young time will probably give you more hieght. if not you can always be a commercial, ads, films, sitcome, etc... model. and there are always exceptions! like kate moss and eva pigford both who started at about 5 '6'- 5 '7'. wish u the best thoe. i myself am trying to pursue a career in modeling.

  • Good Luck ;D

im trying too, rite now im trying to lose some weight... :P

  • hey, wanted 2 b a model since forever n was wondering the perfect height n weight [ 58 145 : { ]

  • omg i can barely see him...those chicks are hot!!

  • I will be a model one day!

    Supermodel hopefully:p

  • yeah same

    but damn im too short

like a 5'2 but im only 12 so i'll still grow

  • im an elite modle now and i remember a few months ago watching this video and learning what I Know from it and I didn't have any money at all

  • Comment removed

  • oh come on! she might have terrible spelling but could't it also be just a typo?

    seriously...

  • Comment removed

  • That was actually really interesting. And I think I got why that other girl with the long blonde hair didn't quite have it. It looks like her shoulders were hunched a little forward, so they made her look like she wasn't sure of herself.

  • I wish I was tall enough to model!

  • me too! :( I'm just 1,63

  • sweetie you dont need money to start a modeling career...all you need is an agencies number and a few good snapshots. oh, and of course the look and body

  • i want 2 be a model sooooooooooooo bad i would do anything its not even funny!!!!!!!!

but i dont have the money to be one:'(

  • im also like u...

i try my best but i think that career s not for me... how sad!

  • i remembered i was so stiff on the runway in the modeling academy. lol. but of course i've loosen up.

  • wow impressive

i never know that a model have to do so funny stuff

i really love the model world ^_^

and this video make me love it a lot more

    the teacher is really fantastic

he is really in the role and he really love teching that

    10

  • very good!

  • I know the girl who he made fun of lol.

she is so sweet and BEAUTIFUL. she goes to my school.

  • lol that contrast thing was mean

    but good

    thanks

  • i know these videos have more to do with the makeup, hair, clothes, and fitness at ford but i would like to see how shows run like how they pick the music and lighting and backdrops and if they can tell if the runway is safe to walk on =)

  • whats with everyone arguing over this? if u dont believe in all this dont watch these videos! seriously, this video was meant to help ppl who are interested in fashion and modeling nopt for ppl who have nothing better to do than arguing.

  • Woh loves the -How to walk clips-

And I think te coach is fab he honest he needs his own show.

Hoping for a part 4 hint hint :P!

  • It's just a trilogy...not Police Academy. Sorry.

  • HAHAHA! you are hilarious.

  • @fordmodels hahahhahah :)

  • @fordmodels cheek

  • yea i think its great that ur comfortable with who you are but when u say things like that, ur making other people feel uncomfortable with who they are just because they wear make up theres nothing wrong with not wearing make up an theres nothing wrong with wearing makeup as long as everyones happy with themselves i dont think it really matters

  • true, but what irritates is the lenghts people will go for the sake of their looks, and when people start judging others by the clothes they wear or the number of pimples they have, and when people spend billions of dollars into an industry sworn to superficiality.

  • oh yeah, and when people make comments like hollistergirl's

  • yea i dont mind things like that coz im a bleach blonde and i go to beauty school but i agree with you, going to extreme lengths to look a certain way is really bad...i mean uve gotta have noooo confidence if u would put ur looks over your health!!

  • what? no i wasnt talking about that girls comment haha i was talking about the comment u made before that one!

  • excuse me but thats not at all wat modeling is about it is modeling clothes and making money simply but its also much more tthan that so u need to back up girl until uve been in da model shoes okay

  • The (high) fashion and modeling industry promote facial beauty that is bold, captivating, and one of a kind (Giselle Bundchen, Karolina Kurkova, Devon Aoki), not the typical, everyday American beauty you'd see walking around in California. They also promote figures from which clothing can gracefully hang. Most runway and print models, with few exceptions once you've reached the professional level, are tall and thin to model the clothing, not to model the woman or the man's body wearing it.

  • ahhhhhh i wish i was them! good tutorial!

  • what kind of shit is that. he thinks a vacant look on her face is attractive? when i see a girl with a vacant look on her face i think shes a dumb ass air head who lacks character... or shes high as fuck. gay men shouldnt critique women. thats like a death person commenting on music or a blind man judging a painting.

  • right about the fact that the fashion industry doesnt care wut hetero sexual men find attractive. if they did, then the super models would also be attractive but they r not. as far as negative comments, every1 is entitled to their opinion. if u dont respect that then fuck u, u god damn facist. something called the freedom of speech gives me the right to think that these bitches are too skinny.

  • Will all you pepole shut the fuck up.

Okay its so fucking annoying, just because yr wayy to ugly && fat to be a model dosen't mean you have to bag on pepole who are models & are beautiful .

&& why the fuck are you watching this is you have absolutly no potential of being a model.

So get a life && stfu. No one realy cares okay. Bye-bye

  • If you came here just to post negative comments, then take it somewhere else. I don't know, maybe get a job or something. These girls are doing something with their lives, they get to travel all around the world, be in magazines, commercials, and get payed alot of money to do it. You all have serious problems for putting people who are just doing their jobs down like that. If you girls are reading this, greatjob! You look fantastic, much better then the 60% of fat americans reading this!Good day

  • Don't smile because it'll make your face all "crinkly"? Oh please! Everybody looks better with a REAL smile on their face.

  • Who was the model at 00:38?

  • so, in other words, 'look like a snob'

  • Gay Black! :P

  • ...and?

  • doesnt matter. he has the skill to teach. everyone has something to contribute.

  • maybe he was born that way and doesn't want to turn out like michael jackson. geez.

  • Woah woah woah. Don't diss MJ

  • Teaching anorectic teenage girls to have a constipated "Oh I'm so important" look on their faces. Perfect :-)

  • "work hard", they just walk, hahaha

  • eww look how skinny they are tats sick id love 2 b a model but i would never be that skinny i love my body!!

  • the 2nd girl was just as good as the first!

  • This is kinda funny, i mean you need classes to figure this out? I watch fashion shows because I'm a perverted SOB and trust me this is pretty obvious, the only thing that this requires is common sense, some logic and practice.

  • Who are they? And where are they from?

    Thanks.

  • why?

  • Are you just mad coz you're not thin..?

Yeah. Thought so. They aren't starving themselves, they're just not overweight.

  • ppl are just saying this shit just cause u all know tht u can never be one of them

    ...

and u think tht by posting something on YOUTUBE ur gonna change a million dollar industry?

    hahaha

  • I am so proud about your intellectual level! :O

  • Ohhhh who cares if they're thin? Thin girls are pretty, too.

  • lol wtf, why would anyone want to do this

*cough* i mean what i really find attractive on a woman is a vacant look?

  • Frankly, the fashion industry doesn't care what the majority of heterosexual men find or don't find attractive.

  • sunday villian is right.

  • k9 mc eiht or k9 kam or k9 goldie loc

    you tube them

  • So today I learned that a 'vacant' look means 'confident' and smiling doesnt look good for pictures.......?

  • eww i dont know why people insist on spreading there negative energy around, if theres something you dont like you can say it in a constructive way.

theres already enough negativity flowing through this world, we as a people dont need to add to it.

very interesting blog, ill make sure to incorporate it next time i walk ;)

  • Yes supermodels will help us fight the climate !

Were can i order them ?

  • The attitude is vacant because so is the brain.

  • haha yup.

    the expression is empty.

    and so is the brain.

and so is the stomach. those girls are sooo anorexic looking!

  • I find it entertaining that "vapid" is a requirement! Ha.

  • goooooooooooooood!

  • Actually, models of late are beautiful in the traditional manner of displaying their delicate features of girlhood, which is amplified in their slenderness. Their long legs are also a sex symbol because they are like tantalizing pathways that lead to their most desirable of womaness. So, they are beautiful, and men don't know they already want them, and women don't know how to appreciate their own unique mature beauty, along with that of fashion, which is obviously more fantasy than reality.

  • its true that beauty now days is a younge beauty. A child into womanhood kind. Its sad that we seem not to appreciate a more mature look. Especially since we tend to keep young ppl younger longer, extending teen yrs into 20s. We all get older and I dont think a woman looks better then in her 30's.Theres a confidence and air about her that the modles today lack.

  • This should be titled "Learn how to lower even more females' self-esteem".

  • just go to the gym and eat healthy

  • brilliant!

  • What are you talking about? Are you telling me to go to the gym? First off I already do, and second of all I'm a guy.

  • uh it teaches us that shallow worthless humans can make lots of money doing extremely little difference in the grand scheme of the universe. Yes, they are pretty. Yes, someone must help sell this crap. No, it contributes nothing to society that is positive or even justify the money spent on this crap overall.

  • ...

accountants don't make much "difference in the grand scheme of the universe". neither do most actors, tv "judges", cooking show hosts, etcetera.

and "shallow worthless humans"? i suppose you must be a very deep, very worthy chimpanzee indeed. sounds like sour grapes to me.

  • I'm with legionishere666, "The Unexamined Life is Not Worth Living".

  • Dude he's putting it out there so it's available to people who are interested in modeling. That's like asking why someone would make any kind of instructional video, half the people won't use it or learn anything from it but the other half will. Fucking idiot.

  • those twigs are supposed to be symbols of beauty? Seriosly? they're like the letter l on my keyboard.they lack womanly features like say umm.... tits, ass, a waist? Completely unattractive.

  • walk like a horse

  • rifk

  • that's a new one...

  • they look good but what's up with the girl's hair... they party too late?

  • i hope he keeps making these vids!

  • The girl in blue suit looks like my dream girl

  • is that kate?

  • Yes.

  • i really like her as a model.

    she got so much potential.

wishing her good luck in her career!

  • Her name is Sabina, she was in Sweden's Next Top Model. :) Nice to see she's doing great even though she didn't win.

  • thank you so much for this! <3

  • Vale la pena verlo !!

  • Claro!
