Yes, that's how it is. Fortunatelly, they use good buses (Mercedes Benz: Marco Polo with HD brake system ).
I drove up and down 6 times. You just wanna make sure that you sit on the right when going up - and on the left going down back to Aqua Calientes. That way you don't see the drop ! :-D
