I bet with the sway bar hooked up and the steering stabilizer in place that wouldn't have been so bad. Mine had a little play in it at the pitman arm bushing like yours, but never affected the drivability of it. Could never even feel it..
@homerunhita12 It made noise also when I had those two hooked up. I removed them to eliminate possible noises and also do not like sway bars when offroad.
It seems many have a small amount of movement but not as much as this did. I have many offroad miles which helped the steering box lower output shaft bearing wear quite a bit. I now have the Durango box and steering correction that is a totally different setup than you see here including an over the axle track bar mt.
@bumpus626 I assume you mean the ones at the axle... i forgot lol. Gimme some time to figure out the name. I glued them to the pad since this video. They moved around too much here. They are better than the aluminum pucks i think.
@bumpus626 it's not really that bad at all w/o the stabilizer shock. quite a few rock crawlers don't have them. if the geometry is correct one really shouldn't need one.my problems mainly exist because i have over 8" of lift and the xj's oem steering wasn't meant for that height. a steering correction kit is necessary. my over the knuckle kit and trac bar relocation bracket is on order and since this video was made my frame rail has be re-enforced and steering box brace installed. no more wobble

@StrainingDingelberry How are they not seated properly?
XJFiles 6 months ago
@StrainingDingelberry Yeah, it's pretty loose. Fixed now with reinforced frame rail and better designed steer box brace.
How are the coils seated wrong? You mean the polyurothane bumpstop flying around? It's glued down now.
