i think cats are uncomfortable in water bathing because of the risk of having hypothermia (their skin are sensitive, making them lose their body heat easily) plus their fur absorbs water very much and its hard for it to dry quickly.

Just to dispel some myths. Cats do clean themselves, but every now and then they do require a bath. I clean my cat about once or twice a year depending. When I clean my cat, I only have about 1-2 inches of lukewarm water and I use a very gentle shampoo, ferret shampoo is the best. Its also important to be very gentle when scrubbing him. This cat could have been in warmer water, scrubbed a bit more gently, and in not as deep of water.

Just to dispel some myths. Cats do clean themselves, but every now and then they do require a bath. I clean my cat about once or twice a year depending. When I clean my cat, I only have about 1-2 inches of lukewarm water and I use a very gentle shampoo, ferret shampoo is the best. Its also important to be very gentle when scrubbing him. This cat could have been in warmer water, scrubbed a bit more gently, and in not as deep of water.
