The interview in question was well done. Megyn was fair and respectful to Rick. The observation I made was based on her body of work. I don't really understand the outrage over this. Santorum pointed out that, as a member of a group of people that has relatively recently been dehumanized, Obama should be particularly sensitive to the dehumanization of any group of people. That's statement is logical and true, and doesn't really introduce race into the discussion in any major way. The same statement could be made if Obama were a member of any other group, racial of otherwise, that had been dehumanized in the recent past.

The interview in question was well done. Megyn was fair and respectful to Rick. The observation I made was based on her body of work. I don't really understand the outrage over this. Santorum pointed out that, as a member of a group of people that has relatively recently been dehumanized, Obama should be particularly sensitive to the dehumanization of any group of people. That's statement is logical and true, and doesn't really introduce race into the discussion in any major way. The same statement could be made if Obama were a member of any other group, racial of otherwise, that had been dehumanized in the recent past.

@daniellee7771 People who have actually lived in the country during that time, and had families involved do often know more about it---- in that they have Oral Tradition that the others lack. They actually have stories handed down to them through generations, not propaganda, but about real people. You can "know" things from many different paths. Read "the slave narratives" for words written by real slaves that you will not see in msm. they are uploaded for your convenience.

His dad from Italy---no long-term history in country, no ties to family stories about dwhat has happened--- so Santorum can only be A PRODUCT OF PROPAGANDA. He had no family to hear any of the "real deal" from. He's "fresh off the boat". He knows nothing of the constitution, really. his family never lived in the constitutional republic. @iAnn yeah..u kno what's funny...i was unaware of his original statement in the initial interview up until a few minutes ago b4 writing this comment. As soon as I heard him say it..I KNEW IMMEDIATELY that he was making reference to the 3/5 representation of black slaves..so of course..before I listened to Santorum attempt exculpating himself from the 'racism' charge.I almost verbatim stated his argument BEFORE listening to him state it.He Fails 2c the RACISM in his words of defense.

If you go back far enough everyone's ancestors were slaves and discriminated against, I am pretty sure Santorum, if he goes back far enough he could find an ancestor in the hundreds of thousands of white slaves that were used by Muslims in the 8th and 9th centuries. So the idea that a white man or anyone else should be less sensitive is rubbish if you look at it from an historical sense.

Santorum wants to use the since Obama is black card he has to take a note from history, everybody’s ancestors were slaves and oppressed if you go back far enough. Where does the word slave come from? The word slav, slav's are central-eastern Europeans.

Personally I slant to the pro-life side more than I do pro-choice, but my race has nothing to do with it. The reason why this kind of peeves me is Santorum’s argument is the same as if your black you must think this way nonsense which irks me to no end. I have heard people tell me that I shouldn’t believe in evolution because it was used to promote racism (yes it is but the argument is still ridiculous).

I am black and I think that Santorum's argument is ridiculous and I am not even a liberal. The fact is that Santorum injected race into an argument for which there was no reason too, and his whole argument that since Obama is black and his ancestors were slaves (they weren't) he should be more sympathetic plight of human fetus not be considered human can be batted down on logical grounds (I will get to that in a minute)
