@thechoosendude Nope, it's legal, check the FAR AIM, it states that as long as it will not cause harm or damage to persons or property it is allowed. We used to mark out a target near the runway fly flaps down and try to hit it with melons from about 300'. ;)
@thechoosendude No, objects may be dropped from aircraft if prior precautions have been taken to prevent injury to persons or property on the surface. I would get you the FAR page but im too lazy. Example : Helicopters dropping candy/fliers at parades or something.
lol, it doesn't matter, you can solo without a license. Conditions are that you are the only person on the plane. But rules are made to be broken I guess. My instructor let me solo at 13 hours. It is one of the most exciting moments in a pilot's life. That is if you wish to follow this career. One thing true is that no matter how many years pass, you never forget the side number of the first plane on which u solo'ed. Mine N953SC 1987 cessna 152. hehe oops! wrong account somebody forgot to logoff

soft-fields are a lot of fun. How did you do the toilet paper cut? just throw a roll at a higher altitude then descend through it? Looked like a fun descent.
Yup. Clear the airspace around you, pop open the window and chuck out a roll. Then, cut the power and come back around and slice it with your wing/prop!
Do you know what Vx or Vy is ?? it is best rate, and best angle type of climb. Vy is not just 'reached'.. it is made.. please correct me if i am wrong.
No way guys. Vspeeds were out the window. I was just enjoying the thrill of flight with my ipod jamming. IAS was about 95 when i pulled off the runway. Vy is 68 if i recall correctly. (But mind you i didnt let the airspeed bleed down anywhere close to Vs)
Single passenger 152? I think I cruise at about 90 kias with our Sparrowhawk engine mod. Maybe you can indeed do 95 kias in ground effect due to a little less drag in ground effect. :-)
No iPod for me since I'm flying out of Class C airspace. ATC is in my headphones!
If you've got an audio input on your cessna, you can listen to both your ipod and ATC. The only problem is that when ATC transmits or you breathe on the mike, the music cuts out and you hear your buddy sneeze. But it makes for a nice time when you're flying in quiet airspace in smooth air.
I like your soft field take off...stay in ground effect,10degree flaps, then shoot up like a rocket. Also, beautiful area. Freaking tiny runway. I wish I could go out there and solo, I'm only 15(just turned yesterday) and I'm all set but i need one more year just for legal reasons! GAH!

pretty sure throwing toilet paper out of an airplane, let alone any other solid object, is illegal.

Us in Canada we have to pass the "PSTAR" exam and pass it at 90% to get your Student Pilot Licence at the age of 14 to be able to solo.

Looked like a nice soft-field takeoff. Flying in ground effect until Vy is reached.
(or Vx). I practiced some of those today in a C152 Aerobat.

Vx and Vy are both airspeeds which you control by pitch and/or power. Vx is best angle of climb and Vy is best rate of climb.
The point of my statement is that you don't climb out of ground effect until you have adequate airspeed.
