I concur with pretty much every other negative comment I've read here. This is total trash. Sadly, more people watch TV dramas than receive proper training, which means that when TV dramas portray it wrong, many people learn it wrong. If anyone is watching this hoping to find out how it's done, I would emphatically appeal to you to ignore it completely and get yourself on a properly accredited course.

That's not how's it's done. Try CPR for a couple rounds. If that doesn't work, defrib 2x taking a few seconds in between each shock to check for a pulse. If that doesn't work, return to CPR.

As a medic, I can completely and utterly dismiss this as not only laughable, but truly idiotic.  If it is a re-enactment, it's pathetic. If it's a scene for TV or a movie, then SHAME on the director for not having an ounce of accuracy in EMS, CPR, or defibrillation protocol...

You cannot defibrillate 4 times simultaneously in a single patient!!! damn, im so pissed off watching this video!!! and the patient is dead, you cannot defib a DEAD patient! it is a big misconception as seen on movies to defib a patient who has no heartbeat. FYI! defib is done in cases such as Torsades de pointe or ventricular tachycardias and the likes!!! meaning you only defib when the heart rate is beating too fast!

Not only was the tempo of the compressions too slow, but the surgeon's hands were too low. Talk about ribcage/sternum damage. should be higher up between patient's nipples for proper hand placement.

A nurse told me that a body doesn't jump up like that with a defibrillator. It is so only in films. And the position of the pads here is not right. One pad should be on the upper part of the chest, on the right, another on the left side, near the belly...

That is such bs, hes not even doing the CPR properly. The rate he was pushing down on the guys chest wasn't fast enough. At that rate there wouldn't have been enough oxygen getting to the brain and he would have ended up with brain damage of death.

He did pretty much everything wrong in the video. He never actually hit the shock buttons, so unless someone is activating it from the unit, it wouldn't go off, he pulled the pads away as it was shocking, they weren't ventilating with a good mask seal, the chest compressions were done incorrectly and way way too slow. This is besides the fact that if someone goes into cardiac arrest in a hospital they are going to do quite a lot more than CPR, and the others wont just sit there.

No it doesnt, defibrillation on a biphasic defibrillator is started at 200 Joules, not 300 Volts. 300 Volts of electricity would do absolutley nothing to the heart.
