why are you lineside? was this a level crossing?

@dansarah1 It is a foot crossing, although there is no crossing, just the stile each side. I am not as close as it looks, the camera lens makes it look as if it is closer, and I am stood further back than the camera!

Presumably the connecting rods were removed from Mallard for the journey, to avoid damage to the cylinders?

@288jh: Mallard hasn't been under running condition for a few years now. She was only just repaired to be moved by Tornado to Shildon.

I was that involved in it, the other train made me jump :o), good footage, a shame the mallard could not do the journey on its own
