@kcaz64 maybe gwyn isn´t a hollow but, his body is just burned, because he was the one who linked the fire, while his soldiers wore their armor, he wears only his robe so maybe, his whole body is just burned.
I like to think that Sun Bro is sort of like the story of Hercules he was cast out of Olympus (or in this case Anor Londo) to sort of prove himself worthy of being a God which is why he's in Lordran in the first place akin to the Labors of Hercules maybe he is meant to ,at the very least, make it to Gwyn at the Kiln of the First Flame or even re-light the Flame and he'll be welcomed back in Anor Londo as a God.
.... Gwyndolin is his last born, so were are the statues of Gwyndolin ? There arnt because he was kept a secret, think for a moment and take in consideration the description made of him in this video (realy good one by the way I would never notice the wole simbolism with the snakes) he wasnt exactly the ideal son, and for that reason only a select few knw of his existence, the darkblades, gwynevere is a hoax and so is her fake covenant.
I think its quite obvious that gwynevere never realy existed, why you ask ? Well in Anor Londo there is three pedestrals for three gods and only two statues are present, Gwyn in the middle of coarse, and gwynevere to his left, and the statue to his right being missing.... think in this for a moment, the one missing is of coarse his first born (you may debate wether is solaire or not, I personaly belive it is but its not that important for the point im trying to prove) and we all know that....
I believe that Gwynevere and Seath did mate, and that their daughter is Priscilla. The girl likely was unruly for her mother (twice her size - the giant gwynevere we meet I believe a false representation, as both father and brother are human-sized), and Seath wanted nothing to do with her. I believe their relationship to be arranged in a horrid way. Gwynevere was promised/given to Seath as payment for betraying his kind (of whom he never fit in with in the first place).
@HazelrahFirefly Since I "secretly" am a supporter of the Seath / Gwynevere / Priscilla theory (there's a statue of Gwynevere in the painting chapel facing the painting, the description of the doll, her tail is white + the symbolism of the moonlight butterfly and Japanese folklore etc etc). I think there may have been some sort of scenario similar to the "Minotaur" myth. I'd like to the Velka was involved.
@kcaz64 In other words that would be like saying my talents as an artist compete with Picasso "even though I'm a human" or "even though I'm mortal". That doesn't make sense - even if Picasso were to come back as a zombie. Only people with the dark sign become undead - why would one of the pygmy's ancestors be working so closely with Gwyn? Especially since the Pygmy went into hiding around the time the war with the dragons happened (all of Gwyn's knights were present during the war)
@kcaz64 Its a bit more complicated than that unfortunately because of the way the term hollow is used in the game. Unfortunately this issue is caused because of the explanation of some of the game mechanics - but I can talk all day about that. When a being has lost the will to live its "to be hollowed" you loose your sanity. It only happens among the immortal. It seems like people with the dark sign are different than "normal humans" as they are corralled into an asylum.---->>
@kcaz64 And alienated from normal society. This is where the story either is full of holes or there's something I'm overlooking: Kaathe mentions that the pygmy's decedent has the "Dark Sign" which is the ability to retain your sanity after you've hollowed. The Dark Sign is the sign of the pygmy. However, in the beginning we see the lady at the firelink shrine hovering over a hollowed body with the dark sign as well.
@Quelaag Meaning that Kaathe is lying, like people have been speculating, that there is a plothole, orrrr that there is something important regarding the fires and how they interact with sanity, humanity, etc etc. Which would also explain Gwyn's appearance at the end of the game. Seems the most likely.
Well, Havel too is an undead is he not? He was a friend of Gwyn's. Also, I could easily see the people in the dark souls world saying something like "Even though he was human". Undead and Humans are seen as entirely different races by the people in dark souls. Undead are usually hunted, killed, and/or locked away in the asylum.
the sad thing about solaire is that when you see him one last time he is heartbroken that he cant fine his own 'sun' and then hes hollow when you see him again, every NPC seems to have a depressing story with a sad outcome
@MrDeathnotefan98 Nope. You can save him by advancing in the chaos witch covenant. It unlocks all of the giant sealed doors - which allows you to save him before he goes insane. After you save him, his quest chain / story ends when you summon him for the fight against Gwyn.
Hm as i understood it Gwynevere and Gwyndolin are the same person. Gwynevere is an illusion created by Gwyndolin created to disstract people from himself.
@TherealChoGath If you read some item descriptions - you find out that the real Gwynevere had a husband and left Arnor Londo with the rest of the Gods / Diieties who lived there. Gwyndolin used her image.
Hey Quelaag i just wanted to say i really enjoy your vids. I absolutely LOVE this game, even though i must admit i didnt pay much attention to the story due to the lack of a narrative (i like to be taken by the hand through stories). Nevertheless after watching your videos i love this game even more. Its a shame that from software didnt implement a deeper narrative because for people like me that wont take the time to read every description and connect the dots, the story will just fly by them.
@Zomgitsgeorge :) That's the way they designed it. It may be a shame to most - but it really brings together the community and laces the game in a hint of nostalgia and mystery.
@Quelaag Can you explain me one fundamental thing about the story, why does everyone want you to succeed lord gwyn? Or is that just what they tell you as a part of the lies? I don´t understand why Frampt and gwynevere are rooting for you if they are supposedly very close to Lord Gwyn.
@Zomgitsgeorge :3 Please watch the rest of the series. It may answer questions. Gwynevere and Frampt are not wanting you to succeed him. They are lying to you and tricking you into linking the first flame and allowing for Gwyn's age to stay. That's why Gwynevere isn't real and is really just an image projected by Gwyndolin.
1. There are no gods present as NPCs or enemies in dark souls. There are deitys with the strength of lords obtained through the lord souls and other means
2. Solaire being Gwyn's firstborn is pure speculation. Worship of the Sun (A symbol of the long-gone priestess and also Gwyn himself) is not uncommon, nor is religious fanaticism. Solaire's lust for killing is not there. Gwyn's bolts are a byproduct of the lord soul he found (which is why the lord of cinder does not use them)
@ihasmario Better than "LOLAMNESIA", you could at least make reference to his name; we are a part of the Sol System, and our Sun is named Sol (It's where the word Solar comes from), and -aire has connotations to luminaire - a word for light. The sun IS the father - it is responsible for all life, and Gwyn himself is the father of the age of fire.
3. Pharis isn't present in dark souls.
4. Giants are separated from men in Dark Souls, so it's likely that Gough was a giant.
@ihasmario 5. Miracles are not based from the sun, but through faith as they were in DeS. "Moon magic" differs in that it utilised the power of souls instead (and crystals, in the case of Seath).
6. Gwyn chose to raise Gwndolin as a woman because of his frail, feminine appearance (if you read the item descriptions). It is likely that it is considered 'weak' for a male to have such an appearance (which is also where Gwyndolin earned his 'dark' title).
@ihasmario "The power of the moon was strong in gwyndolin, thus he was raised as a daughter" - Moonlight Robe. Tin Darkmoon Catalyst scales with faith rather than INT - kind of shows the affinity that gods have with faith. "Gods" as in Gwyn + his offspring.
@Quelaag Oh and adding a bit to the Gwyndolin thing - it seems that his affinity with moon magic while being a God requires an item like that to exist. They are two opposite ends of the "magic/miracle" spectrum. He's kind of stuck in the middle between the two.
@ihasmario Pharis is in Dark Souls - he's a part of the forest covenant and drops his hat and his bow as a rare drop when you kill him. Gough isn't - but he is described as a knight - like the rest of Gwyn's force. We don't encounter any beings referred to as giants other than the blacksmiths and the beings in Sen's Fortress - and they are never used as a central part of the story.
@ihasmario The fact that the soliare's questline GETS COMPLETED with you being able to summon him for Gwyn's boss battle (a boss who represents the son), plus the fact that the sunlight medals have the God of War's story in the description plus him having lightning plussss him using father as a metaphor IS speculation. But almost all of Demon's Souls / Dark Souls is. Its up to audience to analyze the relationships between the symbols / objects / characters to draw conclusions.
@Quelaag You can summon Solaire for a number of battles. The pendant and the Sunlight medals share identical descriptions. Unfortunately, I have a hard time subscribing to which belongs to which, or if it was intentional, because of the huge number of errors namco has made in translation (for example the item description for lightning spear appears on the load screen description for Seek Guidance)
@ihasmario He is an NPC with a questline which can be failed partway through the game. The fact that his goal is Gwyn's boss room makes it resonate with the audience. Otherwise he goes insane in Izalith. Its important that he gets to Gwyn. What other reason would there be for someone with a stack of "God of war sunlight medals~~~" to reach the Gwyn boss room?
We are just historians of a fictional world looking for artifacts that can help us piece together this big puzzle piece of a world and it's past this mission is fueled by our own curiosity please don't look down on myself or others for doing what great minds do... Ask why. :]

@TheYaazie I'm going to cover them in the demon's section. I've seen most of them now. Are there any ones in particular? (do your best to describe). The only one I'm still looking for is the white lion.
Soltair is Gwyn's son? What in the Fuu... Didnt know that. Also why the did Gywn bang a dragon? Thats how Priscilla got here right? And thats why she's an abomination and was casted into the painting world.
@Quelaag The only hint towards that she's half dragon is that her tail can be cut off during the boss fight. like all of they other dragons in the game. Kinda lame thing to judge it on but i took it, better than nothing i guess. Also, who are the four kings? Were they created by Gwyn or apart from his army or something along those lines or did they used to be human?
@GuerrillaFrilla Uh. The fact that Priscilla's boss name is "Priscilla the Crossbreed" and if you read the description of the doll you'll see that she was alienated by the rest of society because of her deformaties. Also, none of the other dragons in the game are true dragons. Read the weapon descriptions. They are either distant ancestors or are "Drakes".
@m4sterch13f222 Oh yeahyeah. If you read his weapon description it says he's a distant relative as well - but apparently the closest to the everlasting dragons. :3
@GuerrillaFrilla I'll get to the four kings in my later video though. :3 They were put in charge after Gwyn left. Then the Dark Wraith came an a bunch of shit went down. Then the mages of the seal flooded the entire city.
@GuerrillaFrilla Also if you're wondering why Gwyn would bang a dragon - I would argue that its because he's modeled after Zeus who had sex with tons of things AS tons of things (Seriously. Zeus raped a girl as a cloud of mist then turned her into a cow). However the only dragon left alive is Seath and the everlasting stone dragon (all the other dragons are imperfect). Many assume Gwynevere x Seath which explains her colors.
@GuerrillaFrilla OH! Also on Priscilla - There is a giant statue of Gwynevere standing alone across from the painting. No other deities are present in that building. :O Gwynevere had a husband. Hiowever, the main theme of the painting world is "Sin" as you find most of Velka's equipment there.
@kcaz64 maybe gwyn isn´t a hollow but, his body is just burned, because he was the one who linked the fire, while his soldiers wore their armor, he wears only his robe so maybe, his whole body is just burned.

@Quelaag
The Stone dragon is a real dragon? He can't be murdered

@m4sterch13f222 I don't understand what the point of him being killed is?

@Quelaag
There isn't, but he is a 'true' dragon and not a drake or crossbreed or Seath
